Takes A Modest Proposal to a new level

"A thought provoking novel that is wonderfully dystopian. I love the idea but realistically the overpopulation would not have continued so far into the future. Also Charlene converts too quickly. #teamLouise"

Interesting world

"I thoroughly enjoyed binge reading this. Some of the paragraphs seemed to run on a bit like they were over explaining a simple task but it wasn't very often I ran across that. If this became a tv series I would definitely watch every episode. I would love to see how this world would be depicted on screen. Great job!"

Unique story, not for the squeamish

"The first few chapters are hard to get through. The world that these characters live in and the mores of their society are so different than our own; it makes it difficult to suspend disbelief. Some aspects I never got used to - especially the sexual overtones to absolutely everything. That said, once the story started to pick up, I had a hard time putting it down. The plot moved fairly well and was, if nothing else, creative and entertaining. I've never read anything like it. The characters themselves were all one-dimensional; I feel they could have been developed a bit more past the main themes of sex, violence, and jealously. I found it kind of sad that those things were literally all they knew. The only motivation for anything is to kill or "be fked" - there is a lot of unnecessary vulgarity in this book. "Love" is mentioned several times, but it's clear that none of these people know what that is. If the author continues this story, that could be a theme that the outside world could introduce. At one point, Karen and Dave are lamenting that they will never see their friends and families again. Who are these families? It was never mentioned whether anyone has parents or family members. The character Charlene didn't make sense to me. She grew up in "normal" society, in a small, religious community. It's very hard to believe that she would accept the activities in the Manhattan City Building as quickly as she did. I wouldn't have. I'm not sure whether the end is a cliffhanger to another book, or if it's just an abrupt ending? Overall, with some work, this could be a completely unique story, but it would take a lot of character and theme development. It's a solid foundation for a much better book."

Uhhh

"Bizarre. I am throughly confused by the ending. Many points it is hard to tell what is going on. The premis is very interesting, and that kept me reading. In the end, I have a headache from trying to figure out what is going on. For sure an interesting plot, original. I am not sure if I enjoyed it or not. Ha."

Interesting to read

"It might not look much from the first chapters, but this story has layers and goes deeper than it seems. Not suited for everyone's taste, but if you're intrigued by the title and description like I was, you'll keep reading"

We The People are good to eat.

"The concept and plot are good. The idea of Humans as food, of course, was done in Soylent Green and other works. Adding the idea of School Death Fights to provide the meat is a good twist. However, the writing style was stilted, This especially was noted during the dialogue /conversations. They did not seem natural. Some of the action scenes were better, but the author needs some work to get things to "Flow" . Try reading it out loud with friends, see if that helps."

We the People Are Good to Eat

"The story is interesting, though the characters aren't particularly likeable. If you can't stomach gore and sexual violence then this isn't the story for you. It's good but could be better."
