"The author says right at the start this story is about the atmosphere and imagery, and they didn’t lie. The sense of despair, grief and struggle is on every page. The visuals feel suffocatingly real. It’s hard to know if you dislike the main character, feel sorry for him or want to beg him to stop. It’s an amazing story, but definitely read it when you’re feeling cheery and positive."
