Your cruel words echo in my brain
I wake up thinking I’m going insane
I try to drown them out but nothing helps
Faceless images and phantom pain tear at my soul
All I want is peace, a safe space
But it feels out of range

I answer “Hi” back
I am hopeful for a connection but I’m scared
