“That boy you traveled with…?”
“Adric,” murmured the Doctor, not looking at the Master.
“Yes, him. Mathematical excellence.” The Master’s mocking tone irritated the Doctor more than being handcuffed to the bumper of a tractor in an isolated wheat field. “You killed him, didn’t you?”
“No!”
“Yes, as surely as I shall now kill you, Doctor. Slowly. Painfully. I shall enjoy your screams.” The Master climbed into the driver’s seat and revved up the tractor, which lurched forward… leaving the Doctor behind.
“Left that a bit late, Nyssa!” gasped the Doctor as she helped him up. “Run!”
“You’re welcome, Doctor!”
