A year to Hell
"This novel comes across as a mix of Freudian psychology and religious doctrine. It definitely kept me turning the pages to find the light amidst the darker elements. It carries the spiritual element of hope challenging despair, and the protagonist goes through many changes to discover what’s important. Given the dialogue-driven text, I could see this easily being converted to a play. Length-wise, the story falls somewhere between a short story and a novella. I see an opportunity here to add more imagery which is why the stage play potential struck me. It has a Twilight Zone flavor to it. All in all, a good read with a timeless theme. "
