Chapter 1

Thunder strike! It’s raining heavily, and George is sipping his hot coffee and looking at a portrait of his last war. George is a soldier relieved of duty for breaking military rules. He settles in North Carolina with his best friend Dave. Dave is an ex-boxer who ruined his career when he was found guilty of drug use. He then got himself into doing business with drug cartels. Dave has a girlfriend, Martha. Martha is a bad ass, and you don’t mess with her. She’s a stripper in a nightclub but runs some dirty stuff for Dave.

“C’mon man, you have to take something more,” says Dave. “Take some whisky; it’s going to help this cold.” George took the whisky, drank some, and said, “This is damn good.” Dave suggested they go out to catch some fun. George accepted.

Is 22:00 The rain has stopped an hour ago, they drove off with a bicycle, and Dave is laughing at some jokes. George cracked,

“c’mon, man, that’s damn funny,” and Dave said, “if I am the man, I will kick the motherfucker ass.” George was looking out of the window and tapped Dave to stop. Dave shockingly asked what is that; George is looking furiously at the guy he saw walking down the street and replied, “Nothing, just go.” Dave just nodded and zoomed off.

The music is so loud, everyone is dancing, strippers are busy, the club light is roaming, and there’s so much fun in the house. Martha saw Dave and George drinking and she came to them and kissed Dave and gave George a kiss on the chick. Martha asked George how he was doing, is he having fun, he should point a girl, and she will make sure he has her for the night. Hahaha, what a funny statement. George is capable of picking any girl at the hall, but he is more obsessed that he is relieved from duty. Dave made a funny face and told Martha,

“George will pick you instead because you’re a crazy bitch.” Three of them laughed. Dave and Martha were still discussing, and George walked towards the restroom. He went to clear his head as he walked out of the door, and he caught the eye of the same guy he saw on the street while on his way to the club. Who is this guy? His name is Allister; he is a deadly assassin; he works for many politicians, drug cartels, and businessmen all over the world; George met him when he was on a special duty in Turkey;

Allister killed George’s best friend, and George was lucky to survive his brutal beatings. George is still wondering what he is doing in North Carolina, whether he is just here for another assassination or who he is going to kill this time and who sent him.

George walked past him and Allister looked at him with suspicion. George rushed to Dave and told him they had to leave now. Dave looked at him surprised and wondered why he wanted to go, and George became more furious that they must leave. Martha wasn’t ok with that and tried walking away, but George held her hand and said to her,

“Your work for the night is over. You are leaving with us.” On the other hand, in the restroom, Allister was busy settling his silencer attached to the muzzle of his pistol. He looks at his target picture once more, which unfortunately is Dave. Who wants him dead? Why is Allister after Dave?

George, Dave, and Martha were moving out of the hall towards the exit door. Allister saw them and followed them up. They sped up to their car, and all three went in. Allister rushed them, but they were too fast and drove off.

Allister rushed his bike and went after them. Dave is surprised and asks George what’s going on, Martha is more confused and demands an answer from George, and George only instructs Dave to loose Allister and go where it is safe.

Allister comes almost close and brings out his pistol and points towards Dave, but he can’t get a good shot as his bullet fires into the side mirror instead. Immediately Dave knew something serious was after him, so he accelerated and made sure Allister was never close to him.

They were approaching a sharp bend and a truck was coming towards them. An intense moment was just a one-second magic as Dave moved faster and cut the sharp bend, the truck crossed the road, and Allister had to stop and look at Dave’s car as it ghosted away.

car parked!, hurriedly the three left the car and rushed inside, closed all the windows and locked the door. Martha rushed George, hit his chest, and asked him, “Who is that and why is he after them?” George looked at Dave and Martha and sat down on the couch, beginning to tell them about Allister, how he killed his best friend on a special duty, and how he survived his assaults. He explained how drug cartels use him as a politician and how they use him as a politician, and he suspected that they were either here for him or Dave. Dave was weak, and on hearing this, he started thinking back about who might want to kill him and which of his past businesses might lead to this. Martha is not safe either because he works all the dirty jobs for Dave, so if Dave is wanted dead, she is not an exception.

’trrrr trrrrr’phone rings and Martha picks up ,hello who is this ,a heavy voice reolied through the phone saying i guess your Martha ,i want to speak with Dave . Martha stretches her hand to Dave, giving him the phone that the caller wants to speak with him. Dave collects it and responds to the unknown caller,

“Yeah, this is Dave, who is this, and what do you want?” The caller laughs and says to Dave that he is shocked that he survived death this night, but he won’t be breathing for long. If he wants to be alive, he should return his barrels stolen from his ship.

“Timm,” Dave is now left wondering who might be the caller. He had run some deals in the past, stealing from cartels and selling to another cartel across the border, but he had run three deals from a container; the question is who among them is after his life. George tells him they have to leave as the apartment is not safe anymore. Martha nodded in agreement to what George said.
