I sat and watched the artist show off and describe his painting, and I considered whether I should perhaps purchase it…
The artist was saying, “And, as you can see, in this painting there are lots and lots of ants who are being taken into a spaceship; and the pilot of the spaceship is also an ant!
Now, it is up to the person viewing this work of art to determine what in the multiverse is going on!!
Is the ant who’s piloting the spaceship capturing those other ants against their will?
Or are those other ants all ants who have agreed to join the pilot of the spaceship on a trip into outer space?…
Or perhaps some other explanation might make the most sense to you!!
Either way, this painting is for sale; and I hope that someone will purchase it very soon so that they can display it at their home or at their work or wherever they might want to display it!…”
And then the artist placed the painting back where it had been displayed, and then the artist picked up another painting and began describing it to us!…
I wasn’t as interested in the new painting though, and I really had my heart set on the one with the ants and the spaceship; and so I decided to just patiently wait until all of the paintings had been described, and then I would purchase the painting with the ants and the spaceship!…
And, so, after a while the artist was done showing off and describing the paintings; and so I quickly went over to the ants and the spaceship painting, paid for it, and then headed off to go home so that I could hang it up on the wall in my living room!…
And, so, before long I had gotten home and hung up the painting; and I beamed with happiness as I looked at how nice it looked on my living room’s wall!…
Then, after a little while, my wife got home; and I said, “Hello, my love!…
I got a new painting for us!…” and then I pointed towards the painting of the ants and the spaceship that was on the wall, and then she looked at it for a while, and then she said, “Nice painting, Arty!…
Although, I think that since you chose one painting for our living room wall without me being involved in picking it I should now head over to an art show or art gallery or something and choose one painting for our living room wall without you being involved in picking it!…” and then I said, “Thanks, Hart!…
And wise words, my love, wise words!…
I look forward to finding out what painting you might pick!…” and then my dear sweet wife got an excited expression on her face, and then she dashed! out of the house! (presumably to go and find and choose a painting for our living room’s wall).
And so now I had the house to myself for a little while, and so I just kind of stared in wonder at the painting of the ants and the spaceship for a while!
I mean, it was just a painting that I really liked for some reason!
Pretty simple, pretty fun, and also pretty open to interpretation!…
Then I began to wonder what my interpretation of the painting was!…
Was the ant pilot capturing those other ants, or did those other ants want to board the spaceship?…
Hmmm…
I decided that this was probably a situation where the ants all wanted to board the ship!…
Yes…, that explanation made the most sense to me…
And then I began wondering what explanation my beloved Hart would have for what was happening in the painting!…
Hmmm…
I would have to ask her about it whenever she might happen to arrive home…
Yes…
It would be very interesting to discover what her interpretation of our excellent painting would be!…
