The Beginning of Silence by Odysseas Nostos
"The Beginning of Silence” is the kind of story that quietly settles into you and doesn’t leave. Odysseas Nostos has a remarkable command of atmosphere, Athens breathes like a living character, and details like cassette tapes, golden keys and Saturday morning markets accumulate with such care that you don’t just read the story, you inhabit it. The writing is restrained yet powerful. Silence on the page carries more emotional weight than a thousand words of explanation ever could, and the slow-burn narrative rewards every patient reader. Most impressively, this story trusts its reader completely, it never tells you how to feel, it simply shows you what happened and lets the emotion arrive on its own terms. Thoughtful, atmospheric and genuinely moving. Highly recommended. "

"I have finally finished reading this piece, I needed to read slower with this story, a very deep emotional story. I love how the author is guiding the reader with questions I love this style a lot. Very strong and well done. Spoke to me through different areas of the story. The characters were well done. I enjoyed the read. Recommend this one but to read slow to take it in and feel it. "
