Oneshot : Enchante Me!
Once upon this vast universe, there lived a fairy princess who got lost in the forbidden woods. The king and queen always told her not to go there or else her life would perish. All her life she had done what they said. But this time she was consumed with curiosity.
On the night of her 18th birthday she opened the curtains that lead to the balcony. She saw the mist trailing inside the tall trees. The moon lit its path, as if to lead her to the unknown. She walked step by step until she reached the cold grass that touched her toes. Her night gown shined in the light. Her dark hair trailed beneath her waist making a contrast to her jade-like skin. As if possessed she kept walking reaching the edge of the forest. One step and she would have reached inside. The mist got thicker. Making it hard to see. A silhouette started to form from the mist. She looked intently seeing a face forming. The chiseled features made him seem detached from this world.
“Come my one and only,” it said.
Her ears tingled from its deep masculine voice enchanting her further. His hand that he extended looked tempting. She wanted to know more about this man, as if fate had brought them together. She lifted her hand about to grab his.
“Susan!”
A voice caught her off guard stumbling more inside the trees. She looked back, seeing her parents.
“Susaaaan, don't go!” they shouted, running towards her. Stumbling to the ground.
“It’s too late, it said.” As he wrapped his hands around her.
“She stepped over the edge, she's mine now” he grinned.
She looked back to see his dark ocean eyes. The depth captured her.
“Who are you…?” She spoke with curiosity.
“your husband.” It said,
“My husband?”
“Wife, say it again, I love the sound of it through your pink lips.” He said, as he placed his thumb on her lower lip. Her cheeks redden at his touch. He bent down and placed his lips on hers.
The mist consumed them, as they disappeared from the world.
“Nooooo!!!” A shout echoed around the lands of the empire.
A daughter was lost, but a wife was gained.
Did that monster deceive her, or was it the other way around?
Night after night, she looked out the window. There stood a man with long dark hair enchanting like the night, it’s dark silhouette shone from the moonlight. Making him look seductive. His very existence draws her in. She bit her lower lip. Feeling a gaze she closed the curtain. Her body felt hot.
Who was this man who always came out at dawn? Was it true what her parents whispered among themselves? Keeping her in the dark. This man was supposed to be hers. They had made a deal, but had not kept it. “Just 3 days and it’ll be over. She'll be of age, and the door to that world will be closed. He won’t be able to reach her anymore” they said, as her heart sped up making her anxious. It was now or never.
“He’s mine,” she proclaimed. Wasn't he? Why shouldn't she have him?
She wanted to catch his eye, she would stand in the terrace every night looking oblivious to his stare.
That day came, as she got the courage and walked towards him. From then on they lived happily ever after. Or did they?
