Act I: 1. Glitterstorm in Glimmerwick
Lumine had always thought traveling with Diablo would be… enlightening. Or at least slightly predictable. She was very, very wrong.
The duo had arrived in Glimmerwick, a town famous for its enchanted markets, talking cats, and an alarming number of rogue brooms. Lumine was carefully examining a stall of glowing apples when Diablo’s nose twitched.
“Do you smell that?” Diablo asked, narrowing his eyes. “Something… magical. Mischievous.”
Before Lumine could answer, Diablo leapt into the air, landing in front of a tiny wizard with a ridiculously pointy hat. The wizard squeaked, “You’re not supposed to touch...!” but Diablo, in a fit of curiosity, tapped the stall.
A jar of “Potion of Sparkling Laughter” wobbled. Diablo sniffed it. Lumine screamed, “No! Don’t...”
POOF! The potion exploded over both of them, showering the pair in glittering, giggling bubbles that stuck to their hair, clothes, and very confused shoes.
Diablo sneezed. A small rainbow shot from his nostrils. Lumine sneezed. A tiny firework popped above her head. The market erupted in chaos. Cats started pirouetting in glitter, brooms zoomed through the air like caffeinated bees, and the wizard frantically tried to grab his potion bottles.
“We need to get out of here!” Lumine shouted, slipping on a glitter-coated apple. Diablo, ever practical, pointed at a nearby fountain. “Follow me. I think water solves glitter issues.”
They dove into the fountain. Instantly, the water turned shimmering pink and giggled. Lumine looked at Diablo. “This is… not helping.”
Diablo shrugged, water streaming from his ears. “We’re learning. This is research.”
A rogue broom zoomed past, knocking Lumine into the fountain again, and a cat wearing a monocle leapt onto Diablo’s head, leaving pawprints of glitter across his face. Lumine groaned. “Why do I even travel with you?”
Diablo blinked. “Because you secretly love chaos.”
Lumine rolled her eyes, only to be interrupted by the market wizard, now covered in glitter from head to toe. “You! Both of you! Clean this mess immediately!”
Diablo grinned. “Or… we could enchant the whole town to sparkle permanently. Think of the tourism!”
Lumine groaned again, dragging him toward a mop and bucket. “I swear, next time we come to a magical town… I’m bringing earplugs, broom nets, and anti-glitter spray.”
Diablo winked. “Where’s the fun in that?”
By the end of the day, Lumine and Diablo were covered in glitter, soaked from the fountain, and laughing hysterically at the chaos they had caused. Somehow, Glimmerwick’s townspeople decided they liked the sparkle. Rumor has it that a small rainbow occasionally appears over the market, just in case Lumine and Diablo ever return.
