Mission
Hello!
My name is Gala, and it was getting close to Christmas one year and so I decided to get a tree and decorate it.
But I wanted to make it fun, and so I went out to the woods to chop down my own tree instead of buying one that had already been chopped.
And so I found a tree that I liked, chopped it down, and then brought it home to set it up at my abode.
When I got inside, my boyfriend Gino gawked at the tree and said, “Is that a real tree or a fake one?…” and then I said, “It’s real!…
I wanted us to have a tree for Christmas!…” and then he said, “I think there’s a striped snake on the tree for some reason and it’s right next to you!…” and then I dashed! away from the tree!; and then I began suspecting that he had just done an April fool! joke in December!; and so I suspiciously said, “Is there actually a striped snake on the tree, or were you just pulling my leg?…” and then he said, “I only said that I thought that it was a striped snake; and, for sure, I still see it right there…” and then he pointed at the tree, and so I looked towards the tree and saw that there was indeed some sort of striped creature that I guess kind of seemed to resemble a snake from where Gino and I were at…; and so I said, “Hmmm…
That’s a very colorful snake, if it is one!…
And it’s very Christmassy too, with the red and white stripes like a candy cane has!…” and then Gino said, “For sure!…
I mean, my first thought was that it might be a candy cane; but then I saw it move, and so I figured that it was most likely a snake; since some snakes do have stripes and colors that could make them look pretty similar to a candy cane…” and then I said, “Well, perhaps I should get a bucket or something to put the snake into so that I can take the snake back into the forest…” and then Gino said, “Good idea…” I’ll keep an eye on the snake while you grab a bucket…” and so I went to get a bucket, and I soon found one and then headed back to Gino!…
But when I got back, he said, “You’re not gonna believe this, Gala, but I think that that might be some sort of candy cane robot or something now…” and then I became very puzzled, and I said, “But that wouldn’t make any sense…
I mean; I literally just chopped that tree down in the woods, and then dragged it home; and so how would a robot candy cane have gotten into the tree?…” and then Gino said, “Well; it ain’t a snake, at least, because I just saw it use arms to go from one branch to another branch; and when it went from one branch to another branch I saw the bottom of it, and the bottom of it was shaped like a candy cane!…
I didn’t see the top of it though…
And I get that a snake could just happen to have been in a candy cane sort of shape, but snakes don’t have arms the last time that I checked; and so all that I can think of right now is that it might be a robot candy cane…” and so then I looked over towards the tree; but most of the red-and-white-striped creature was behind branches, and so I didn’t really see it very well…
“I can’t see most of it at the moment…” I said, “And so what should we do?…” and then Gino said, “I’m down to just keep on watching until it moves again, I’d say…” and then I said, “Sounds good!…
And we can even cuddle up on the couch while we watch to see what it does next!…
I mean, it’ll be like a mini Christmas movie in real life!…” and then Gino chuckled and said, “It’s a date!…” and so I sat next to him on the couch and cuddled up close to him; and both of us stared very intently at the tree for a while from where we were comfortably cuddled up on the couch!…
And, so, anyhoo; I think that it was about 20 minutes later when I heard a voice say, “Hmmm…
I appear to be stuck!…
I hate to ask y’all for help, but do you think that you could lift me out of the tree!…
I mean, I kind of have an important mission to accomplish!…” and then Gino quickly said, “I knew it!…
It must be a robot!…
And so now whoever’s controlling it is speaking to us through a speaker that’s on it!…” and then I jokingly said, “Or maybe it’s actually a little candy cane person who’s on a mission for Santa or something!…” but then I was surprised to hear the voice from the tree excitedly say, “You guessed it!, you guessed it!…
I didn’t announce myself earlier because I’m on a mission to save Santa, and I was worried that you might be a villain!…
But then I ended up deciding that you seem very likely to be alright to me now, and so that’s why I’m trying to get some help from you so that I can get back to my noble mission so that Santa will be able to deliver the presents as usual and won’t be captured anymore!…” and then Gino said, “I still think that you seem like a robot to me, but I guess that we can help you out of the tree…” and then I said, “For sure!…
No reason why we can’t help whoever this is out of the tree and play along with whatever bizarre scenario might be playing out right now…” and so then Gino and I walked towards the tree, and then Gino reached down and helped the strange creature out of the tree!…
It turned out that the creature was shaped like a candy cane, had 2 arms, and also had a head; and so basically we did seem to be looking at a candy cane robot!; and so I decided to play along with the game of whoever was controlling the robot for a bit; and so I said, “Wow!…
You’re a pretty epic looking candy cane person!
Oh, and I suppose that I should formally introduce myself…
My name is Gala, and this is Gino!…” and then the candy cane waved merrily! at Gino and I!; and then the candy cane said, “It’s nice to meet you 2!, and thanks for helping me out of the tree so that I can get back to my mission to rescue Santa!
Oh!, and I’m Cady, by the way!…” and then Gino said, “It’s nice to meet you, Cady!…” and then he carried her over to the couch and set her down; and then he said, “And so what happened to Santa, anyway?; and how do you plan on rescuing him?…” and then Cady said, “I love this couch!…
Super comfy!…
But, of course!; I shall tell you about the horrific capture of Santa that happened!, and perhaps I can even convince you 2 to help me accomplish my mission!…” and then Cady the candy cane began to tell Gino and I a pretty fantastical tale about what had led to her ending up in our abode…
