Chapter 1

“Muriel, wine.” Crowley slumped into his chair–no. It was Aziraphale’s chair. That he left behind.

“Crowley, you need to stop drinking. It’s been years!” Muriel stared at Crowley sternly.

“Muriel!! He is GONE! He’s not coming back. Not anytime soon.”

“Listen, why don’t you go upstairs to sleep for a bit?”

“That won’t change anything. He isn’t coming back. Though, I suppose I might as well. I’ve nothing better to do.” Crowley stood, taking his sunglasses off and setting them down on the desk. He sighed, drudging up the stairs.

“Sleep well, Crowley!” Muriel smiled. They stood, and walked around for a bit before deciding to find a book. They hummed while shuffling through books when there was a mix of hisses and heavenly choruses. Beelzebub and Gabriel.

“Hello there!” Muriel grinned, spinning around to greet the two. “How do you do?”

“We’re pretty good. But...how’s Crowley?” Beelzebub asked.

“Ehhhhhh...not so well. He went upstairs to sleep if you want to see him but...he’s still trying to drink his problems away,” Muriel sighed. “Uh, have you seen Aziraphale lately, Gabriel? Or...at all since he left?”

“I have a hunch that I would not be allowed back into Heaven. I haven’t even tried. Plussssss, I don’t want to leave Beelzebub by themself,” he said, grinning widely at Beelzebub.

Beelzebub smiled back before heading to the stairs.“You think he’s asleep yet? You wanna come with, Angel?” they asked while walking up the stairs.

“No thank you, Bee. I will speak with Muriel for some time.” he smiled.

…………………………………………………………..

“Crowley. Get up, Traitor,” Beelzebub said as they entered the bedroom.

“For the last damn time, how am I still a traitor when neither of us are on Hell’s side anymore. And shut up. I’m awake,” Crowley groaned.

Beelzebub sighed, “How are you doing?”

“Fine,” Crowley mumbled and crossed his arms.

“Mhmmmmm.... And that’s why you’re drinking so much, am I right? Yes? Perfecttttt!” They grinned, a glare being returned from Crowley’s side.

“I am not drinking away my problems. I’m only....sometimes drinking when I get bored.”

“So always?”

“Fuck off.”

“No. I need to make sure my favorite traitor is doing alright. Is that so bad?”

“No…” he mumbled and flopped himself back down upon the bed.

—Meanwhile In Heaven—

“So how’s your work coming along, Aziraphale?”

“Oh, just absolutely wonderful!” Aziraphale smiled, looking up to see the man standing behind him.

“Great, keep at it,” Metatron grinned, sipping his latte.

“Yes, of course, Sir,” he nervously chuckled. Metatron walked away, and Aziraphale slipped his glasses off, folding them up and setting them in the corner of his neatly organized desk. He looked around, making sure nobody was going to approach him anytime soon, and pulled out a piece of paper and his quill.

Crowley,

I miss you, my love. I want to see you. But I cannot do so. I wish I could. Metatron won’t let me visit Earth. You may be thinking “Well you’re the Supreme Archangel, why can’t you just leave at your own will?” I wish I could. But alas, I am only just that: Supreme Archangel. Not Metatron. He’s the voice of God. Surely he has authority over me. I love you. I will be praying to be allowed to visit you soon, Dear. How is Muriel? And Nina? And Maggie? Have Gabriel and Beelzebub visited you yet? I presume you don’t want to talk to me after what I did, but, I will hope that this letter reaches you swiftly, smoothly, quickly, and safely.

Your Angel, Aziraphale

He stared at the letter.

“Crowley...I miss you to no end, Love,” Aziraphale whispered under his breath, a tear shedding. He enveloped the letter, sealing it with his custom seal: an engraving of Crowley and him. He looked around, and miracled it to his bookshop’s front door.

“Aziraphale, I need you to fill out some paperwor…— Whoa. Are you okay?” Michael walked over, concern shrouding her eyes.

“Oh dear! I do believe that I’ve gotten myself in such a mess!” He chuckled, wiping away the tears that had just somehow randomly appeared!

— Back on Earth—

*WHOOSH*

“Oh? What’s that?” Gabriel looked over Muriel’s shoulder.

“Hm?” Muriel turned to see what was going on. They walked over, leaning down to pick it up.

“To Crowley,” Gabriel read.

Muriel and Gabriel rushed upstairs with the letter, forcing it into Crowley’s hands before he had time to react.

“Whoa whoa, what the Heaven is this?” Crowley raised an eyebrow. He flipped the letter over, and then the bed was suddenly wet.

“Crowley?! Are you okay?!” Muriel rushed to his side.

“It’s from Aziraphale,” he sighed, his hands slightly shaking while picking the letter back up and wiped a few tears away.

“Fuck, really?!” Beelzebub’s eyes widened. All three circled around Crowley. He finally got the letter opened, smiling brightly at the seal. Beelzebub smirked as Crowley’s face lit up at different spots of the letter.

“Ohoho..what do we have here? A case of someone is in loveeee???”

“Fuck off, Beelzebub!! Let me read my angel’s letter in peace!” Finishing the letter, Crowley scrambled to get out of bed and find a pen and paper.

Aziraphale,

I wish you had written to me sooner, love. It’s okay, I’m sure you can imagine how I am. I love you as well. Don’t worry about anything, Dear. We’ll figure it out. Muriel is doing wonderful. They are contributing to the fact that I’m still alive...haha.. When you see them next, you better thank them. Nina and Maggie are great. They vavoomed finally! Isn’t that just wonderful? :D Beelzebub and Gabriel are visiting right now! They’re....the usual, you know. My love, I always want to talk to you. Even when you’re an ass, I still love you. I’ve been a wreck that you haven’t written to me this whole time. I hope you receive my letter soon as well.

Your Demon, Crowley

“Muriel, can you send this to Aziraphale?” Crowley pleaded as he shoved it into a bag because he just couldn’t find an envelope anywhere.

“I wish. I’m not quite sure I would be able to. I’m sorry. Though, maybe Gabriel could do it?” Muriel looked over at Gabriel.

“I think I could. Take a picture just in case it gets lost; I’m not sure how well this will work out, since I’m not an archangel anymore, you kno–?”

“Yeah, yeah, I get it, shut up and send it to him!!!! Please!!!!” Crowley shoved the letter at Gabriel, nervously standing there, waiting.

……………………………………………………………..

—Meanwhile In Heaven—

“Michael, could you just, uhm ...oh dear I am terribly sorry. I seem to have forgotten my word—” He was cut off by his fascination with the object that had appeared upon his desk suddenly.

“What’s that?” Michael tilted her head.

“It seems to be a letter from Crowley. I...that was fast. Haha…” He looked up at Michael, then turned back to his desk where the letter still lay. He opened the bag, un-crumpling the paper. His face lit up seeing his demon’s handwriting. He loved this. Finally being something other than a nervous wreck.

“I’ll leave you to it, Aziraphale. I’ll be back later, I have stuff for you,” Michael said and waved as she turned away.

“Crowley…” He smiled to himself.*You know what?* he thought. *I will be going to Earth. Right now. I want to see everyone, it’s been years.* He stood and went to the elevator.

“Aziraphale. Where are you going?” a cold and threatening voice shot out at him. He clicked the button to make it hurry up, not like it worked very well, surely. Metatron walked over to him and the elevator doors finally opened. Aziraphale rushed in, quickly shutting the doors before Metatron was able to reach him.

………………………………………………………….

— Back on Earth—

“Oh, I hope he got my letter.” Crowley had been pacing for a solid ten minutes when he heard the bell on the outside of the shop rang. The four whipped their heads to the stairs, jumping up. Crowley was the first to rush downstairs, stumbling on his feet and nearly falling down. He saw the blonde hair he loved so much…wait. No it wasn’t.

“WHAT THE FUCK DID THEY DO TO YOUR HAIR, ANGEL?!” Crowley shouted as he noticed Aziraphale’s hair was gelled smoothly over.

“Oh, that? That’s just–”

“Oh, fuck that, nevermind, I don’t give a shit. Come here.” Crowley grinned, running to his angel. He ruffled his hair back to its natural curly form. He pulled Aziraphale in and hugged him so tight.

“Would a kiss suffice, Love?” Aziraphale asked, crying into Crowley’s shoulder.

“W-would you really?”

“I want to, Crowley. I really do. I… I don’t know what happened before I left, I was stressed, I- I apologize for wha—” He was cut off by Crowley’s lips meeting his. It was a soft, loving kiss.

“Hah, I’ve been waiting for my second one for years, and now I’ll be waiting for my third.” Crowley grinned, intoxicated with love.

“I don’t think you’ll be waiting for long, Crowley.” He pulled at Crowley’s blazer, kissing him just as Crowley had in the first place. Tender and hopeful.

“Oh my Satan, I love you.”

“I love you as well, Dear.” Aziraphale smiled and hugged Crowley.

“I know I forgave you, and I’m sorry. You didn’t need to be forgiven. Would you be able to forgive me?”

“Always.” Crowley smiled.

“Now, where did you put your sunglasses? You look somewhat strange without them?” Aziraphale giggled, pulling away from the hug, taking Crowley’s hand in his own.
