Chapter 1: DEAL

" Brown, pretty please." I pleaded, putting both of my hands together and giving him the puppy eyes that everyone agrees on.

" No, it's too dangerous for you to go there." He said as he turned around and walked back to his office to finish the preparations for the camp.

" Come on, Shane's going there, why couldn't I? This is the last time I'll be free before they take away my private life." I protested dramatically as I blocked his path, spreading both of my arms to ensure he didn't pass through.

" He's going back there for publicity because of how he acted, while you're going there to escape and hide from the world again." He argued, passing through making me rolled my eyes.

" For the record, I didn't hide myself my parents did; to be honest, I may have seen your camp as an escape route, but you can't blame me. I'm drained in the studio making songs and lyrics that the label company wants; it's too tiring." I said whining as I walk over to his table and grabbing the papers, hoping he will listen to me.

" This is my last chance to find myself again, to find inspiration to make good music. Besides I have been coping in that studio for 5 years in my life Brown, please help me find my motivation again." I finished compiling all the papers and put them back on the table in front of him.

" Did your mother knew about this?" He questioned, as his gaze rising from the document in his hands.

I scratch my neck turning away from his stare. " Well, about that you see... I actually escape from the house again." I said, as I face him smiling shapely.

" So your mother doesn't know you're here?" He asked, scratching his nose at my bothersome presence.

" She knows, if she'd find that note I left at my bedside table." I mumbled, looking up unsure if my mother had found it.

" You stay here, and I'll call her and tell her about your plan. If she agrees, I might reconsider, but if she doesn't, I'm sorry kiddo." He said as he shrug off and exited the room. I sat in the chair and waited for him to return.

After awhile of waiting for a few minutes, he return to the room, and walked back to his chair, facing me; I couldn't tell if it was a good phone call because his face is difficult to read.

He takes a deep breath before saying, " Your mom is really angry about your sudden disappearance, but she understands that you needed to clear your mind; I told her your plan and she was completely opposed to the idea." He told me as I lean further waiting for him to continue.

" But she agreed if you produce the song for the camper who wins the final jam with Shane." He said gleefully to me.

" I knew there was a catch, I almost fell for it." I told him, accusingly pointing my index finger at him.

" So I could go if I produce a song for Shane, who might I add is currently the biggest jerk in the pop rock industry." I grumbled, contemplating about this negotiation.

" Why? You two were best friends back in camp." He told me worriedly as he stood up and walked to the seat in front of me.

" We used to be, before he cut me off." I remarked sarcastically, smiling sadly at the memory. I cut Brown off before he could ask anything.

" You know what, I don't care about him or his life; I'm going back there because I'll find my inspiration and motivation in rebuilding myself." As I stood up, proudly of my decision.

" We have a deal, Brown." I said as I extended my hand to him, he smiled warily and shook my hand in agreement.

" That's great then, your mother told me your driver will pick you up by five. You can explore the place while I finish up some last-minute preparations." He told me as he get up from the chair walking to the side to make some phone calls.

I walked out of the house and into the patio.

A million thoughts in my head I started singing as I walk by heading to the place.

Should I let my heart keep listening, 'Cause up 'til now I've walked the line.

Nothing lost but something missing. As I was singing I remember my childhood years, where every summer I will go to camp rock and met my friends to have fun for music.

I can't decide what's wrong, what's right?

Which way should I go. I remembered the fight between me and Shane when he had ignored me and didn't show up from my birthday to celebrate.

If only I knew what my heart was telling me. I continue singing walking around the place and just feeling the moment.

Don't know what I'm feeling, Is this just a dream? Ah oh, yeah.

If only I could read the signs in front of me.

I could find the way to who I'm meant to be Ah oh, if only; If only

" Kathy!! the driver's here." Brown called me out from the forest, I take a deep breathe and continue heading back to start packing for camp rock.

" Mitchie! Get Up! It's last day of school." Connie called out to her daughter downstairs.

Mitchie inserts the CD into the computer, loading up the music.

As she rises from her bed and walks over to the window to gaze outside at the sunny morning.

She sits down and runs her hand through her hair, creating various hair styles.

She finished brushing her hair and went to open a door where her clothes were stored and tried on different outfits for the last day.

She chose a violet shirt and pants, grabbed her bag, and went downstairs for breakfast.

" Oh, Cool Hot Tunes is on; turn it up, please." Mitchie requested, as her mother did.

" The popstar phenom Shane Gray may have gone too far this time, as he stormed out of the set of the new Connect 3 music video."

" Rumor has it that the other members of Connect 3 are fed up. This final stunt cost his label thousands of dollars, but it may cost them the rest of their record deal." A female newscaster announces as she broadcasts the latest news on television.

" What's wrong with that boy? He's got everything." Connie sighs as she looks at her daughter, who is disgustedly watching the show.

" Except for a clue." She sighed, returning her gaze to the television to continue listening to the news.

" The message is clear, he needs to clean up his act, and to this the record label has given him time to do so by canceling the Connect 3's summer tour." Connie turns to her daughter as the television clicks.

" Look what I found in the crisper." She said, holding up the Camp Brochure that Mitchie had hidden to ensure her mother found it.

" A camp rock brochure, or should I say another cap rock brochure?" Connie asked, knowingly. Mitchie gave her a perplexed look, as if she had no idea where the brochure had come from.

" Look at that, Oh, great cheese omelet by the way, you should definitely add that to your catering menu." She happily said as she changed the subject.

" So you have no idea how this brochure got in there?" Mitchie shakes her head in response to her mother's questioning.

" Or the one taped to the vacuum cleaner?" Her mother asks again, sighing as she sees her daughter's expectant expression.

" Sweetie, I know you want to go to this camp, but I'm sorry, we just can't afford it right now with your dad expanding the store and my catering business taking off... Oh, honey, I'm sorry." Her mother explains, holding her daughter's hand for comfort.

" I know Uhh... Got to go, Last day of school. Don't want to be late." Mitchie said sadly as she gathered her thing standing up.

" What? The catering you booked was canceled? How that did even happen?" I ask over the phone with Brown.

" I'm not sure what happened, I'll do it, but the list of caterers is with you." He said over the phone.

" The list? What list?" I ask, puzzled, as I grab my bag in search of the document. " Oh... it's right here, I will try calling from the other ones you didn't cross out." I told him in the phone as I glance the paper.

" I would call you again if I could find one. Also, can we give them benefits or any requests they want to make them agreed? I mean, we booked them at the last minute before the summer season." I suggested.

" Fine, you decide; just make sure we have one." He pleaded.

" Ok, I'll do that bye." I said as I hung up the phone and began making phone calls to various caterers in the area.

I dialed a caterer service again after calling the tenth caterer and still not finding one. " Hello, this is Kathy from Camp Rock, is this Connie's catering? Could I speak with Mrs. Connie Torres?" I asked.

" Yes, this is she speaking." Said the caller on the other end of the line.

" I'd like to booked your catering service for the summer in our Camp Rock." I told her.

" I would love that, but my catering service is just getting started, so I'm short on staff." She explained to me.

" Don't worry, we've already hired a few staff for kitchen duty, who will assist you in making the foods for the duration of the summer camp, and we also give benefits or any requests that you may like, so maybe you have some thing we could offer." I said, pleading and persuading with her to say yes.

" I have a daughter who might want to go there if maybe she..." She trailed off.

" If she could be a camper? That's fine, we could giver her a discount rate to every class she will join, if you agree?" I cut her off right away.

" I would love that, thank you." She said cheerfully.

" No, I should be the one to thank you, ma'am; I'll email you all about it later, good bye." I said as I hung up the phone and did a brief victory dance.
