The Ultimate Gamble: A World Built on Games
"This story is a brilliant blend of sci-fi and psychological drama. The author, Jamie Nightshade, hasn't just written a story; she has constructed an entire universe where every race has its own hierarchy and strict laws.I was particularly impressed by the protagonist, Noir — he is not just a skilled player, but a complex character searching for his path amidst 'Sacred Commandments' and a brutal social order. The concepts of the Titans' biological individualism and channeling energy through their Marks are incredibly original. The plot unfolds so rapidly and unpredictably that it keeps the reader hooked in every chapter. If you love deep lore and high-stakes intellectual games, this is a must-read! "
Fantastic world building!
"The first 3 chapters are mostly fleshing out the world and honestly, I think it's spot on. It really makes the world feel full of life and gives super useful and grounded context for the greater story without feeling like a history lesson that you have to read. The idea of commandments, as well as a brief history of the planet prior to the story, and the Fellowship, give the whole story padding that makes the rest of it easy to understand and digest, and if anything does some up that sounds unfamiliar, chances are it has been noted in those first 3 chapters, so it's always fun to go back and reference it whenever you need. Excellent story, definitely worth reading."
Would Recommend
"Actually, this is a terrific story, I'm really liking it and it has a lot of potential. The pace could be a tad faster."
Fantastic Story - Needs Better Pacing
"I love this story, it is unique, fun, and brilliantly exciting however it needs work on the slo pacing and long chapters. Shorter chapters would be a wonder. 7.8/10"
Great ideas with the potential to become something special
"Planet Equinox is a combination of ideas that create a unique world. It's clear the author has a clear vision and establishes the rules of their world, in addition to providing a solid world-building structure. The protagonists form a well-complemented duo, making you eager to know where they'll go next, what their next game will be, and how they'll win. With further revision and polish, this story could become something truly unique within the science fiction genre (perhaps even inventing its own games)."
Real potential
"Jamie Nightshade: The ideas and the world building are incredible. Essentially this reads like a first draft and has the potential to be massive. It will need editing and proofreading of course, but concentrate on writing till the end first, as long as you don't quit you can't lose. Try to focus on following your main characters in real time as the action unfolds rather than explaining so much now. Let the reader experience it as the character does. Well done. Lynette "
