Chapter 1
It all started on a dark and stormy afternoon. I never knew that this day would change my life forever. My day started like any other day. I got up at 6:45 in the morning, got dressed and went to the kitchen to get breakfast. It was the end of the county fair. I can hear the cows, sheep, and horses being loaded up. I looked outside and saw the storm clouds. I got done eating breakfast and grab my coat and headed outside to see if anyone needed help. As I got closer to the fairgrounds, I saw the weather changed quickly as the sky turned to a dark grey color and it has started to sprinkle. I saw my friend loading up her horse. Then I saw my mom talking to a couple. I ask my friend if she needed any help. She told me no. But then told me to ask around. I helped a lot of people with loading up animals and crates and boxes. By the time i got done. It was raining hard. I ran home. When i got home, my parents told me and my sister that they had a surprise and momis getting it. We waited for what it seems like forever. When we heard the front door open and closed. Then we saw my mom holding something small in her jacket. My mom said to welcome the new member of the family as she unzipped her jacket. That is when we saw the cutest puppy ever. My mom told us that the puppy is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. And we get to decide her name.
