Tommy sat cross-legged on the living room floor, maps and books spread all around him like a treasure hunt. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he looked up at his best friends—Pierce, Dylan, Emmet, Miguel—and his cousin Juju, who had just arrived with his two younger brothers, Felipe and Lucas. “One day,” Tommy said, “I want to travel to every corner of the world! Imagine the stories we could tell!”
Pierce’s grin grew wide. “I’m ready for a real adventure! Climbing mountains, zooming down rivers—it’s all waiting for us!” he exclaimed. Dylan nodded thoughtfully, tapping his chin. “If we plan carefully, we can learn a lot from every place we visit,” he said quietly.
Emmet laughed, pretending to hold a microphone. “Breaking news! Tommy and his crew set out on a journey to taste the spiciest foods and see the most colorful markets!” Everyone giggled at Emmet’s silly voice, but Miguel had his eyes shining with a different kind of excitement. “And I want to learn new words in every language,” he said. “How would you say ‘hello’ in the first country we visit?”
Juju stood up bravely. “I think we should start with a place where the streets buzz like a beehive and every corner smells like spices,” she said. Felipe and Lucas bounced in place, eager for the adventure to begin. Tommy smiled at his eager little brothers and felt a rush of happiness.
That night, Tommy’s family gathered around the big kitchen table. Bright pictures of markets filled with lanterns, fruit, and mysterious spices covered the pages of the guidebook he held. “What if we start with Morocco?” Tommy suggested. “The markets are full of colors, and everyone says the food is amazing!”
His parents smiled warmly. “It sounds like a wonderful way to begin your travels,” his mom said. “Remember, every journey brings new friends, stories, and a chance to learn. We can’t wait to hear all about it!” Tommy felt a spark inside him—a brand-new dream was just beginning to take flight.

At breakfast, Tommy shared his thoughts with Felipe and Lucas. Felipe’s eyes grew wide. “Do you think we’ll see colorful lanterns hanging from the rooftops?” he asked. Lucas nodded excitedly, “And hear music playing everywhere!” Tommy smiled. “Yes, and maybe we can even try talking in Arabic. Miguel was curious about languages, so we’ll all learn a few words together.”
Back in the living room, the friends gathered around the guidebook again, pointing at pictures of bustling market stalls. “Look at these beautiful pottery pieces,” Juju said, tracing the patterns with her finger. “And imagine tasting sweet dates and mint tea,” Pierce added, licking his lips at the thought. Tommy could almost smell the spicy air and hear the chatter of shoppers bartering for treasures.
Dylan pulled out his notebook. “We should write down what we want to learn and do,” he suggested earnestly. “That way, we won’t forget anything important!” Emmet grabbed a pencil and started drawing a map of the market with colorful stalls. “I’ll make sure we include a place to find the best sweets,” he declared dramatically, making everyone laugh again.
Miguel flipped through the pages, stopping at a section about greetings. “Here’s how you say ‘hello’ — it’s ‘Salam’,” he said carefully, “and ‘thank you’ is ‘Shukran.’ Let’s all practice that!” The friends folded their hands politely and repeated the words, their voices full of excitement and pride at learning something new.
As the day moved on, Tommy felt a warm glow inside. The adventure was no longer just a dream—it was starting to take shape. Together, they were one step closer to a world full of colors, flavors, and friendships waiting just beyond their doorstep.
That afternoon, the friends gathered in Tommy’s backyard to create a plan. Spread out before them were colorful markers and big sheets of paper, ready for their ideas. Felipe chimed in excitedly, “And don’t forget the lanterns! I want to see all the glowy lights.” Lucas bounced up and down, urging, “We should pack our cameras, too. I want to capture all the colors!” Tommy smiled, feeling how fun this adventure would be with so many eager explorers by his side.
Pierce spoke up, “We should learn some Moroccan songs before we go. Dancing would be a great way to make new friends.” Miguel nodded and pulled out his tablet. “I’ll look for videos about Moroccan greetings and songs. Maybe we can practice together every day.”
Dylan scribbled down the group’s ideas carefully. “We can also write a little journal for each day there. That way, we remember the sounds, smells, and stories we hear.” Emmet pretended to be a news reporter again, “This just in: Tommy’s team is the best in the world for exploring new places and trying new things!”
As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the yard, Tommy felt a lump of excitement grow inside him. This was no longer just a dream.
