An Awakening and Reunion

Ami awakens feeling like she's lying on a cloud. As sleep leaves her and awareness returns she sees she is in a four-poster king-size bed on a goose-down mattress. The bedposts are adorned with gold inlaid carvings of romantic flowers hearts, and moons and stars.

She lies on satin sheets with satin pillowcases a wh-where am I she says to no one in particular and is shocked when she hears a reply.

French lace nightgown and her wounds on her feet are bandaged She has been bathed and covered with a red velvet comforter. The room is as ornate as the bed tapestries a fireplace with fire burning.

"Wh- where am I?" she says not expecting a reply.

She was shocked when a woman's voice answered her question.

"You're in the Royal Palace of the king of Acronia," says a matronly woman sitting at the foot of her bed.

You had us worried "Princess Sleepyhead you've been asleep for 6 days."

Ami's eyes widen "6 days?!" "I've been asleep for 6 days?" Yes" says the Matronly woman smiling "but the king's physician says you were" exhausted and let you sleep."I'm Lisa your chambermaid. I've been looking after you bathed you dressed you and checked you every hour for fever."

"You did all that for me?" Ami says "Thank you."

"You're welcome, your highness." Says, Lisa.

Lisa gasped "Oh my goodness I almost forgot." Lisa goes to the chamber door and opens it. "She's awake," Lisa says " Tell the King right now. " Lisa closes the door and faces Ami," The king wanted to know as soon as you awoke." Liascssys I nearly forgot glad I remembered."

Ami says "There was a man who rescued me singlehandedly from the slave brothel." "I wonder if I can see him?"

Lisa smiles a knowing smile. "Was he dressed in black leather and a hood covering his face. Akso was he good with a sword?"

Ami says excitedly "Yes! That's him! The most amazing man I've ever met and I've met quite a few." I'd love to see him again to thank him for saving me."

Lisa says " I think you'd like to do more than just thank him, Princess."

Ami blushes her face turning rosy. "Am I that obvious?" Says Ami

Liss says "Yes you are, but it's okay Princess. I happen to know he's quite fond of you. The way his eyes light up when he talks about you. The tenderness in his touch when he put you in this bed and asked me to be your chambermaid." It may interest you to know he's coming to see you today."

Ami's breath hitches in her throat and her heart leaped in her throat."Really! She says her eyes are ?" lighting up." But do you think the king will mind?"

Lisa says "Oh I don’t think he'll mind one bit. Lisa giggles a tiny bit." "Princess, are you hungry? I could send for a tray from the kitchen."

Ami says "I am hungry, yes."

There's a knock at the door. A man's voice says "May I come in?"

Amid eyes widen to the size of saucers. "It's him, my savior." Then she sits up "Enter her voice squeaks and she recovers Yes please come in." The door opens and he steps inside carrying a tray with pastries and a steaming pot of tea. " I thought you might be hungry after such a long nap." He says.

Lisa whispers "Your breakfast is here Princess."

Ami whispers back " Indeed and he brought tea and pastries."

"PRINCESS!" Giggles Lisa. "That was naughty!"

He's still wearing the hood Ami says " You promised you'll tell me who you are once we're safe now Mister The princess says "Take off that hood." Lisa says "Careful Princess he really does not like sass."

He faces her, " You may be a Princess but that doesn't mean you are immune to being spanked."

Ami feels a tingle run down her spine at his threat.

He says "But I did promise." He reaches up and takes off his hood.

Ami can't believe what she sees her eyes are glued to him her jaw drops and her mouth opens then closes and opens again. "Hello Ami," says Daniel.

Ami leaps from the bed straight into his arms. She wraps her legs around his waist pulling him in to her for a passionate kiss.

When they break the kiss both are panting heavily. Daniel says "Good to see you too Princess."

Ami says you are the one who rescued me? I thought I'd never see you again. When did you get so strong and learn to fight like that?

"Ami it's a long story she is still wrapped around him as he carries her back to bed now under the covers. That gown is as beautiful as you are but it doesn't leave much to the imagination." Ami slips under the velvet comforter and says

"It wasn't easy, have some tea and pastries and I'll try to explain."

Lisa says "Would you like some privacy while you get acquainted? "

"Yes Lisa, and walksnoutbth

" says Daniel "Thank you very much."

Lisa curtseys "You are welcome Your Majesty." And walks out the door.

Ami nearly chokes on the tea she is drinking. "Did she just say, "Your Majesty "?"

Dsniel says " Well thst usualky is the typical address used for a king."
