Dashed! Away

Hello!

My name is Ranner, and I like to golf!…

Well, anyways; I was out golfing one day when I suddenly heard a voice yell “Four!!…” and I quickly dashed! away from where I was to avoid the ball that was presumably headed my way!…

The bad news is that the ball hit me, but the good news is that the ball landed on a part of the back of my boot that was sturdy enough that it didn’t really hurt that the ball had hit me…

I was still unhappy that the ball had hit me though, and before long a person arrived near me and said, “I’m so sorry!…

The ball just went the complete wrong direction, and I’m not even playing this hole!…” and then I said, “Oh, I suppose that we all have times where the ball goes completely differently than how we aimed for it to go, and so don’t worry about it…” and then the person said, “Thanks for being understanding!, and I’m sorry again!…

Are you hurt at all?…” and then I said, “Naw…

It just hit the back of my boot, and no harm was done…

I hope that your game will improve and that the ball will cooperate more next time!…” and then the person said, “Thanks!…

And I’m so glad that no harm was done!…” and then the person picked up his ball, and then he went off to the other hole to get back to his game…; and then I got back to my game, and luckily the ball having hit my boot didn’t result in me playing the rest of my golf game badly; and so by the time I was leaving the golf course and heading home I was in a very good mood and whistling a merry tune!…

Well; I was almost home when I saw that there was a person who was selling food, drinks, and snacks out of a portable sales booth; and so I decided to get some food and drinks; and so I then walked up to the sales booth, figured out what food and drinks I wanted, paid for them, and then received them, thanked the salesperson, and then walked the rest of the way home in a very good mood because I was excited to enjoy my food and drinks!…

The only problem was that when I got to where I lived I discovered that my abode was gone!…

“Whaaaa???…” I muttered in dismay…; and then I got my phone out, called the cops, and the person who I talked to on the phone said that an officer would arrive within 5 or 10 minutes…; and then I began enjoying my food and drinks while I waited, and as I ate I wondered how in the world it was even possible that my abode was just missing!…

I mean, how was it even possible?!?…

And was I maybe dreaming?!?…

Like, maybe the golf ball had actually hit me on the head and knocked me out?…; and so if that had happened then it had just been a dream when I had experienced the ball hitting my boot?…

But then I took another bite of my food, and it tasted way better than I would ever expect dream food to taste; and so the food tasting so good was making me think that it was very unlikely that I was only dreaming, and so I supposed that I’d just have to hope that this problem of my missing abode would be solved before long; and perhaps the police officer would be able to give me some information that would make this bizarre situation somehow make sense…
