Knighted
Hello!
My name is Pog, and I like to bounce! here and there and everywhere on my epic pogo stick!…
And so I was bouncing along on my pogo stick one day when I heard someone calling for help!…
And so I bounced over to where the voice was coming from, and then I saw that someone was being attacked by several people…
And so I then bounced my pogo stick onto the attackers, and the attackers were a bit injured but more confused than anything; and the person who they’d been attacking managed to run away during the confusion!…
And so then I quickly began bouncing away!, and one of the attackers said, “After him!…” and then the attackers all began chasing after me!…
I was too fast though, and so they didn’t manage to capture me, but I did end up in a part of town where I’d never been before as I’d been bouncing away from them…
Hmmm…
This was odd…
And which way would get me back to my part of town?…
I had no idea, to be honest…
Which meant that for the moment I was lost…
And so then I went into a store that was open, and I asked the salesperson how to get back to my part of town.
The salesperson said that he’d tell me if I bought something, and so I said that that was fine, and then I looked around the store to see what I should buy…
I soon found a watch that didn’t cost much and looked pretty cool, and so I bought the watch and then the salesperson told me how to get back to my part of town…
Then I bounced back to my part of town, and then I bounced home and began to take a closer look at my watch…
It became pretty clear right away that it wasn’t set to the correct time at the moment, and so I adjusted it to get it set to the correct time; but then suddenly! I saw that I was in a castle and there was a man with a crown who was near me!…
“Whaaaa???” I said in shock; and then the man who was wearing the crown noticed me and said, “Who are you, and what’s that strange contraption that you’re carrying?…” and then I realized that the “strange contraption” was probably my pogo stick; and so then I said, “Hey!…
I’m Pog, and this is my pogo stick!…
And who are you?…” and then the man with the crown said, “And what does a pogo stick do?…
Oh, and I’m king Arthur, by the way!…” and then I said, “Whaaaa???…” but then I looked down at my watch and saw that it was displaying a date that was waaaaayyyy in the past!…
Or I guess the present now…
The past compared to the what the date had been when I’d been bouncing around and saving that person and fleeing from the attackers and whatnot, anyway…
But how could I have traveled back in time?!?
Was that even possible?!?
But the king was still waiting for an answer, and so I said, “Ummmm…
It helps me complete noble quests!…
Like how I saved somebody from attackers earlier today with it!…” and then the king grinned and said, “Very good!…
I mean, I was about to also ask how you got into my castle (since I’ve never seen you around before), but now it seems that what matters isn’t how you got here but simply that you’re here!…
Because we need another knight to sit at our round table who can then go from sitting at our round table to defeating a dragon who’s keeping a fair maiden captive!…
And so does that sound good to you?…” and then I said, “But I’m not a knight, unfortunately…” and then king Arthur chuckled and said, “But you will be soon!…
Now follow me!…” and then he began walking away; and I was tempted to try to time travel away from this situation, but I ended up deciding that being knighted by king Arthur was a pretty once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; and so I began following the king; and I figured that I could always just get knighted, head off towards where the dragon and fair maiden were at, and then travel to a different time period before reaching the fair maiden and the dragon; because I certainly had no intention whatsoever of actually trying to defeat a freaking dragon with my pogo stick!…
I mean, my pogo stick was pretty epic and all; but me taking on a dragon seemed like the lost cause of all lost causes, and I had no intention of getting burnt to a crisp or gobbled up or anything like that!…
But, anyway, I wouldn’t have to face a dragon because I wasn’t going to actually try to complete the mission that king Arthur wanted me to complete; and so as I followed king Arthur towards the round table all that I felt was excitement about the fact that I was about to be knighted by one of the most famous kings in all of history!…
