Chapter 1

Maya POV:

"Wait, am I hearing you right? Or am I too high?" I am so surprised that I don't know what to say or how to react at this moment.

"I don't know if you are high or if you need hearing aids, but I DO know one thing for sure, that is you will be getting married in a month for sure" My sister replied arrogantly at me.

"What is such a hurry in getting me married in a month? Is this a Govt exam or some competitive exam to think that I can't write after the deadline. You do know right, that I will still be ALIVE even in the next coming months and years to get married?" I sighed. What's wrong with these people setting deadlines and all.

"You will be alive but the guy doesn't have time to wait for you in the upcoming months. I don't get it, he is the one you have selected after seeing the photos, and you did speak with him personally. And, YOU are the one who agreed to marry him. Now, what's the issue of getting married to him this month?" My sister put her logic forward.

I sometimes think one of the major reasons for her to study law is to raise points against common people like me during the arguments.

I mean, imagine studying law just to argue better with people.

Such a Narcissist!!

"Stop! that's my cake!!" I yelled and grabbed the cake away from her. That is my favourite cake. I didn't even give the cake to the children in the street and saved it for myself.

"Don't be so stingy Maya. You are about to get married. You should learn to share" she argued back.

"First, I didn't agree I am getting married next month. I mean, I did say he is good, but that doesn't mean I will marry him immediately. And, secondly, the most important thing, I am not stingy. I am just saving for future. I follow financial advices seriously" I ignored her and said in between my munching on my cake.

She threw me a dirty look and started leaving the room.

"And listen, nothing is going to change after my marriage. And my marriage is NEVER going to happen" I said and ate my cake peacefully not knowing the volcanic dust that is flying towards me.

........................................................................................

"Please feed him the cake 🍰 dear" my sister smirked at me.

She is looking at me saying as if saying 'This is what you deserve for not giving me cake last time'

She is a WITCH!!

THAT'S FOR SURE!!!

"Feed me the creamless cake part. I don't like cream" Arjun said opening his mouth to eat as well as posing for the camera.

YOU ARE DEAD ARJUN. I WILL MAKE YOU REGRET MARRYING ME!!!
