Episode 1: King
October 7th, 2026
The Nexus Med Bay
James is in the bed, his arm reattached, slowly regenerating. Andrew is sitting next to him.
“It’s been 4 months, James,” Andrew says. “Your Lightning-Regeneration is slow at the moment. I wanna inject the Lightning-Force Boosters into your bloodstream, but I don’t know what it would do.”
James’ body twitches, and his eyes clutter open, but then instantly closes again, and his body stops twitching.
Void’s Base
Jonathan, still in the cell, is sitting there. He’s looking out the cell, just thinking. He’s been there for 4 months. Even his 16th birthday was 2 months ago, which he spent with nobody, in here. Then, Xyren walks in.
“Hello, Kael,” Xyren says.
“Go to hell,” Jonathan says.
“No. Listen, Kael. Your father was a… Let’s just say he was a bit complicated. Hypocritical for that matter.”
“Prove it.”
“I can’t. But what I can prove, is what your father did to Kryndorians. Watch this video.”
Xyren plays a video on the TV in the corner, and forces Jonathan to watch it. The video shows Darien training a group of soldiers. The soldiers are doing these advanced training simulations. They stab and shoot themselves so they can teach themselves how to heal and/or bandage their wounds. If they can’t heal themselves, then they bleed to death. If they can, then they move to the next level.
“That’s only level 1,” Darien says. “Imagine what the hardest level can possibly be. You can’t, can you?”
“You’re lying. This has to be fake,” Jonathan says.
“You don’t even know your father. What he was capable of. He killed his own brother for the position of King of Valdoria.”
“You’re lying.”
“He staged it to look like he committed suicide. His brother’s name was Kaelen. Which is why your mother wanted to name you Kael. After your father’s brother.”
“No. I may not have known my father but there’s no way he’s a murderer!”
“It’s the truth. I can take you to the moment.”
“How?”
“You see, when you are born in Kryndor, and you accept your true Kryndorian self, then when you come to Earth, you can fly. And if fast enough, you can go back in time.”
“Really?”
“Yes. There is Blue-Navorum in your bloodstream, so I can take you now.”
“Fine.”
Nexus Hall
Andrew picks up James and rushes him to the Med Bay. He puts him on the medic bed, and then runs back to the main room, and collects the bone pieces. He rushes back, and then carefully puts the pieces in order, and glues them together, and then back to James’ arm. He then injects a tiny amount of the LFB(Lightning Force Boosters) into his body, hoping his Lightning-Regeneration starts repairing the bone. He then tries to reconnect the veins and his nerves.
“Come on, James, we’ve only been doing this hero thing for 8 months, don’t die on me now,” Andrew says, trying to be as calm as possible.
Andrew takes a little bit of blood from James’ chest and injects into his arm. He then sits by James, and just waits, hoping he wakes up soon.

Today
Andrew is still waiting for James to wake up, looking like he hasn’t slept in a while. James’ vitals are better, but not good enough to survive. Andrew glances at the LFB. He gets up to walk to them, but then collapses, falling asleep.

Darien, 21 years old, and his older brother Kaelen, 25 years old, are in their living room, with their father, Veylan.
“Listen,” Veylan says. “You both know that the older sibling is destined to be King once I die. And looking at my health records, I only have 24 hours to live.”
“24 hours?” Darien asks. “That’s only a day.”
“Whatever,” Kaelen says. “I’m gonna be king.”
“You don’t even care that father is dying?” Darien asks.
“No. He can die now for all I care,” Kaelen says. “I’m gonna be the King of Valdoria and you can do nothing about it, little brother.”
“You care more about being king than father’s health?” Darien asks.
“Yes, Darien. As long as I am king, I don’t care,” Kaelen asks.
“What kind of monster are you?” Darien asks.
“The kind you don’t want to mess with,” Kaelen says.
Darien grabs Kaelen’s throat, and says, “Who the hell do you think you are?!” He throws Kaelen across the room.
“The next King of Valdoria!” Kaelen says. “That’s who I am!”
“No you’re not. You’re a selfish bitch,” Darien says.
“Boys, stop,” Veylan says, worried that someone’s about to die.
“Shut up father,” Kaelen says. “I’m about to be King!”
“Darien,” Veylan says, looking at Darien with hurt in his eyes. “Kill him.”
“What?” Kaelen asks. “Wh-what do you mean kill me?”
“Okay,” Darien says, looking at Kaelen.
Darien grabs a sword from next to the fireplace, and then he grabs a pocket knife. He throws the pocket knife at Kaelen, scraping his neck. Darien walks slowly towards Kaelen, the sword scraping against the stone floor.
“Wait, we can talk about this,” Kaelen says, panic in his voice. He walks backwards slowly, but then knocks into the shelf, making him fall.
Darien drops the sword, and takes out his second pocket knife(very convenient...). He then tackles over Kaelen and slits Kaelen’s throat. He puts the knife in Kaelen’s hand, making it look like he killed himself. Darien then walks to the couch.
“We need help over here! Someone quickly! Help!” Darien yells. 2 guards rush in and see what happened.
“What happened?” Guard 1 asks.
“He was walking over here, and then I told them about my health problems, and then out of, I think sadness, he slit his throat,” Veylan says.
“Yeah,” Darien says. “That’s what happened.”
In the distance, is Kael and Xyren, watching from the building across, secretly.
“See?” Xyren asks. “Your father killed your brother.”
“You partially lied,” Kael says. “My father didn’t kill Kaelen to become King of Valdoria. He killed him because he disrespected their father. And either way, Veylan told him to kill him. He may be a killer, but he did it for good reason. I would’ve done the exact same thing.”
“I guess being a cold blooded killer runs in the family.”
“Why didn’t you tell me I look like my grandfather?”
“What do you mean?”
“In the picture on the fireplace. It’s Veylan with my father and Kaelen when they were all younger.”
“Never saw it. But yeah, you do look the same.”
“We’re on Kryndor. I can kill you.”
“That’s the thing about Time Travel, Kael. Do or say the wrong thing, and everything will go wrong. You might make the war start 4 years early, and you inevitably never get born. And if they find my body, they’ll start the war early.”
“Damn.”
“Let’s go back.”
“Wait. Can I see them? My parents? Before we go?”
“I guess. But don’t tell them who you are or where you’re from.”
“My father is gonna realize I look like his father.”
“Say you’re a… distant relative. Or, use this facial transmogrification device.” He hands him a small device.
“Facial transmogrification device? What’s that?”
“It changes your face.”
“How do I know to change it to the right face?”
“Just make it one of your friends’.”
“Okay. I guess I’ll go with James.”
“Why?”
“First person to come to mind.” He uses the device, and then he looks just like James.
“Don’t do it too soon. Do it at Kaelen’s funeral or a day or two after his death comes in on the online newspapers.”
“Okay. Wait, what if we’re here for too long?”
“We can get back to the second we left.”
“Okay.” “But if we are here for too long, there will be a disturbance in the timeline, and we’ll be forced back home to the second we left.”
“Okay.”
“Are you ready for this, kid?”
“Why do you care? You kidnapped a 15 year old.”
“Because nothing matters more than a good ol’ family reunion.”

Today
“I’m worried,” Nicole says. “Jonathan hasn’t been home in 4 months.”
“He’s a big boy, Nicole,” Samuel says. “Maybe he’s on a mission with the others.”
“For 4 months? He missed his 16th birthday. I-I’m putting up missing posters.”
“Okay. I’ll call Sheriff Bertoni and let him know.”
“Thank you, honey.”

It’s the day of both Kaelen and Veylan’s funeral at the same time. Jonathan, still looking like James, is there too. At the end, Jonathan walks up to Lyanna and Darien, his parents.
“Mr. and Mrs. Thalor, I’m sorry for your losses,” Jonathan says.
“Thank you, young man,” Lyanna says.
“This was a private funeral,” Darien says. “How’d you get in here?”
“I have strong connections in tight spaces,” Jonathan says. “And besides, I wanted to personally send my condolences. And possibly a hug?”
“Sure,” Lyanna says. “Right, Darien?”
“Yeah,” Darien says.
All 3 of them share a hug together, and Jonathan feels at peace with the warmth of the hugs from his parents.
