"Having read Gabby’s other (older) stories, I am floored by how her writing style has developed over the last two years. Murder Comes for Breakfast balances settings (a small town with a long, interesting history), the ambience (Christmas fair and the festive spirit), and a budding romance between a hard-nosed journalist doing a fluff piece (while digging into mysterious disappearances) and the local innkeeper, when the murders begin. Throw in some interesting cocktails and a load of shenanigans... This one’s a page turner, people! "
Short & cute read
" A very quick and easy read. I did not read the St Mary series in order. I started with the second book and I say this because it didn’t feel like I missed anything by reading out of order. I still saw all the other characters and they were nicely introduced and done. This book is really fast paced but in a good way. The romance between the two MCs is cute. It develops naturally (in two weeks) too which is nice. Gabby has me hooked on her stories even though there is minimal spice and that says a lot because a girl need her spice. "
Cozy, Christmas, and Murder? Sign me up!
"First off, the imagery used in this book is incredible. The author uses smells, sounds, decorations, and whimsical additions to create the illusion of the perfect little Christmas Inn. Pacing-wise, the story is not too drawn out, nor does it take a long time before serious matters happen. The characters are charming and have an interesting dynamic that could be explored in another installment. Toward the end, there is an unexpected spicy scene. With the way things were happening, I did not think it would happen, but then it did, so yay! My only critique would be to remove a section of the last paragraph, as I feel it does not fit in with the wrap-up. 5/5 in all categories aside from the critique."

" A lighthearted cozy little mystery which is an easy read. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the small town atmosphere. World building was phenomenal as the people and settings came alive. The plot twisted and I was guessing until the end, and the romance sub plot added a satisfying extra dimension. "

"A truly enjoyable read. The writing is beautiful and flows so naturally. The characters feel real, the setting is warm and inviting, and the slow-burn romance is wonderfully cozy. At the same time, the twists and turns keep the mystery surrounding the town’s Christmas murders compelling and alive. "

'Tis the season to be...murder-y
"Welcome to St Mary's, the town that basically invented Christmas. Investigative journalist Logan is banished to a cozy B&B (the horror!) to write a fluff piece, but ends up fluffing the unexpectedly young and beautiful innkeeper, Amelia. When he's not tripping over dead bodies, that is. Thoroughly enjoyable read if you like a bit of crime with your mistletoe, and a rum punch to your romance. The only real downside is that it's a bit on the short side and we have to leave St Mary's too soon...but not to worry, this is apparently going to be a series! I know what I'm doing for Christmas next year...😏"
