Prologue
A very long time ago, the Gods ruled all.
The Faeries were created by the Gods and blessed with powerful magic. They served them, carrying out their will and helping maintain the balance of the magical world.
But as the Faeries evolved, they began to desire something they had never known.
Freedom.
They no longer wished to serve the Gods. They were willing to worship them, to honor their power and acknowledge them as their creators, but they would never bow, bend their heads, or live in servitude again.
So they left the Gods' kingdom and settled in a land of magic called Atheria.
Werewolves, sirens, witches, and other magical creatures lived alongside them, each with their own magic and traditions.
For a time, the different races shared the land.
But peace never lasted. As the races grew and their powers developed, so did their desire for more of it.
The Faeries, once servants of the Gods, began seeking a power of their own. They wanted to rise beyond their place as creations and become something closer to the Gods themselves. And so, in their pursuit of greater power, they created a new race to serve them.
The Vampires.
Now Atheria became a new world.
A world that is perfect and full of life.
But even perfection breeds envy.
Envy leads to destruction.
One thread at a time, the balance of the world wore thin, fraying with each passing moment. Somewhere in the darkness, the wind whispered a single, immutable truth: no power endures forever.
And one question remained: who would rise, and who would fall?
