Breach
Something big is running through the hall.
The thuds stop at my room.
It pounds on the door so hard I feel it through my bedframe.
The taste of adrenaline is sweet.
Cracks split down the white wood.
Something grunts on the other side.
Its peering through the deepening cracks with soulless eyes and a grin of impatient greed.
I hug my teddy bear and scream.
The lights flicker out.
It laughs from the other side with an octave of evil.
The door splits in half and it races inside, roaring.
Claws impale my chest.
I hear vertebrae snap wetly.
