Chapter 1
The summer air was warm, the kind that clung gently to your skin and made time feel slower.
Hyunjin lay back on the sand, arms folded behind his head, staring up at a sky so blue it almost didn’t look real. Somewhere nearby, waves rolled in steadily, like they had nowhere else to be. He exhaled softly.
“Do you ever feel like this summer isn’t real?” he asked quietly.
Felix, sitting beside him with his knees pulled to his chest, turned his head. Sunlight caught in his hair, making it glow. “What do you mean?”
Hyunjin smiled without looking at him. “Like… it’s not going to end.”
Felix laughed softly, a sound as light as the breeze. “I kinda hope it doesn’t.”
They fell into comfortable silence after that. No pressure. No rush. Just the sound of the ocean and the warmth of being together. The days had started blending into eachother—mornings filled with salty air, afternoons spent wandering, nights glowing with stars and quiet conversations.
Somewhere along the way, summer stopped feeling like a season.
It started feeling like home.
