Oops! I Fell in Love With This Book by Angela Norris
"Oops. I thought this was just going to be another read. I liked the cover, I liked the title, so I settled in... and what Oops did to me was keep me up an extra two hours and leave me feeling warm and cozy in the best possible way. Oops is a story you'll remember. You'll fall in love with Hazel. I promise you that. Hazel is every woman who is just trying to make it all work, who gives brilliant advice to strangers online while her own life is held together with dry shampoo and good intentions. She's funny in that specific way where you're laughing and wincing at the same time because you've been exactly there. Maybe not that exact situation. But that exact feeling. The romance builds slowly and honestly and when it lands it lands completely. There's a grumpy boss who is quietly, stubbornly, unmistakably doing everything right while pretending he isn't. There's a mystery that isn't really a mystery once you're paying attention. And there's Hazel, catastrophically finding her way to exactly where she belongs. Angela Norris writes with genuine warmth and real comic timing. This one sits comfortably next to the best contemporary romance on Inkitt and holds its ground easily. Read it. Hot Mess Hazel!

Hazel is a master of disaster!
"This is the story of a rather neurotic young woman who jumps from one disaster to another! by day she is a sarcastic, clumsy and endearing cashier at Mike's Mart. By night, she is cool, calm and knows everything - the wise, perceptive, anonymous author of a popular online advice column. She runs head-first into trouble when she gets romantically involved with someone who writes into the column, and sprints headfirst into more trouble than she can juggle! Featuring an endearing cast of characters, including a gorgeously handsome gym jock and the cantankerous minimart owner. The writing was very good. The characters feel memorable and lived-in. Hazel in particular is an unforgettable protagonist, the kind that makes you laugh and shake your head all at once. She's young, beautiful and a little too immature, which makes her wisdom all the more surprising when she's online. The banter between Mike and Hazel is fun. She is clever and doesn't fight fair. There are some grammar issues, and sometimes too many different people speaking in a single paragraph. However, the novel was originally written in Italian and translated into English, so I don't believe English is the writer's native tongue. There are a couple of plot points that are a bit confusing. The protagonist decides to change careers, but then changes her mind again apparently? Its a major plot point, and there's no clear line from A to Z. There is also another plot thread that seems to be left dangling, but its a relatively minor one. All in all, this was a very fun, engaging novel with a memorable protagonist, and the slow-burn romance is a lot of fun. There are several twists and surprises along the way, so buckle up!"
