The Beginning
In distant memories, there was a hero who tried to stop the apocalypse. But in the end, the world ended up burned and destroyed....
Now, about two thousand years have passed by. Repopulation of pokemon came back and so has humans.
Unfortunately, pokemon could not be tamed as partners anymore. Survival was everything as technological advancements grew.
[Year, 2350]
A bus comes up to a stop at the parking lot as a male with short black hair, a pink left side braided side bang, pink eyes, pink T-shirt, black sleeveless jacket, black cargo shorts with pink brims and black boots with pink laces stepped out. He had a bag strung over his shoulder as he saw a bit giant dome structure with the name "Slayer Corp." on it.
"I'm here...can't wait to see uncle Morgan." He says with a smile.
The imposing Slayer Corp. headquarters looms ahead, its reinforced steel walls gleaming under artificial lights. Several armed personnel patrol the perimeter.
A receptionist notices you approaching and scans your bag with a security device.
"Name and business, please?"
"The name's Lenn Zujikawa. I am Commander Morgan's nephew and a Type User. The attribute I control is Psychic. I am a new recruit. Lenn says
The receptionist's expression shifts slightly at the mention of Morgan's name, checking a database on their terminal.
"Commander Morgan's nephew... I see. Psychic type, you say? Interesting. Follow me to processing. The commander is currently on a mission."
The doors slide open with a mechanical whir. Lenn follows the receptionist inside.
Inside, the facility buzzes with activity. Technicians adjust energy weapons, while tactical maps display areas where dangerous pokemon have been spotted.
"Your uncle mentioned you'd be coming. Here's your temporary ID badge." The receptionist hands you a sleek card. "Processing will take 15 minutes. Wait here."
After the time passed, a notification pings on the receptionist's screen. They glance at it and nod.
"Your Psychic abilities have been registered. However, we require a demonstration before full clearance. Follow me to the testing chamber."
Lenn stands up and follows to the testing chamber.
"Well ...I already done this already and I thought my uncle put in the paperwork." Lenn says
The receptionist leads you down a sterile corridor to a reinforced chamber with observation windows.
"Standard procedure, Mr. Zujikawa. Even with Morgan's recommendation, we need to verify your capabilities. Your uncle's mission report is... currently delayed."
Inside the chamber, various equipment hums - psychic wave detectors and energy shield generators. A technician adjusts a control panel.
"Please demonstrate your Psychic abilities by moving those floating orbs." The receptionist gestures to glowing orbs suspended in mid-air.
With no effort, Lenn moves the glowing orbs simultaneously as Lenn then does them instantly multiple angles and circles and loops.
The technician raises eyebrows at the fluid display of power, while data streams across their screen. The receptionist makes a note.
"Impressive control. But can you maintain this while deflecting this energy pulse?" They activate a testing field.
A pulsing energy wave emerges from the field, testing Lenn's ability to maintain focus and control while under pressure.
"Maintain steady while adjusting angles to redirect." The technician watches intently, fingers poised over controls.
The energy wave intensifies slightly, but Lenn's control remains precise. The technician exchanges impressed glances with the receptionist.
"Increasing difficulty level. Now try combining with telekinesis to lift that heavy training unit." They point to a reinforced object.
The training unit weighs several tons, designed to test advanced Psychic users. Lenn's eyes focus as he lifts it with a flick of his wrist.
"Remarkable... Your uncle didn't exaggerate." The receptionist mutters, noting more data. "One final test - mental shielding."
The chamber suddenly emits a psychic probe, attempting to breach Lenn's mental barriers. The technician activates a series of mental stimuli tests.
"Block and counter these psychic attacks while maintaining your other control." The probe intensifies gradually.
Lenn yawns as he felt this is nothing to compared what he went though years ago.
The technician seems puzzled by the yawn, while the receptionist frowns slightly.
"Unimpressed? Very well. Maximum setting." The probe becomes more complex and targeted, trying to exploit weaknesses.
The chamber's lights flicker as Lenn remains unbothered. The technician now looks concerned at the system's readings showing complete resistance.
"Incredible resistance... We've never seen such stability. Commander Morgan's nephew indeed." They adjust settings to peak difficulty.
The peak setting causes the equipment to whir louder, but Lenn stands there casually, still manipulating the orbs and lifting the unit. The receptionist speaks into a comm.
"Confirming full Psychic mastery. Clearance granted. Commander Zujikawa will want to see this."
"Uncle knows of this already. He did send the paperwork, but it seems as if you never got it." Lenn says
The receptionist checks their terminal again, looking slightly embarrassed.
"Ah... yes, there it is now. The system must have delayed processing. My apologies for the delay, Mr. Zujikawa."
The testing chamber doors open as the receptionist gestures to exit, "You may proceed to the main operations area. Commander Morgan's office is on level three."
As Lenn walks through the facility, personnel glance curiously at his demonstration results displayed on screens. Some whispers about Morgan's nephew being more powerful than expected.
The elevator to level three awaits, marked with security clearance requiring his new badge.
The elevator smoothly ascends, showing a view of the facility's security perimeter below. The badge scans green as it recognizes Lenn's clearance.
Level three has more senior personnel, with doors labeled "Slayer Team Leaders" and "Special Operations." Morgan's office is at the end of the corridor.
"What the hell do you mean no!?" The sound of someone yelling in anger. "I worked so hard to get that position and you are denying me as Senior Officer?! Commander Morgan, I have worked so hard for it."
"Allen, calm down. I said what I needed to say about your promotion and it is denied." Said a low voiced male from behind the door.
The shouting continues as Lenn approaches Morgan's office. A tall man in tactical gear - presumably Allen - stands outside, face red with frustration.
"This is discrimination! I deserve that rank after five years of field missions!" Allen slams his fist against the wall.
Morgan's calm voice cuts through Allen's outburst.
"It's not discrimination. You're still too reckless in critical situations. Senior Officer requires strategic discipline."
Allen notices Lenn passing by and shoots him a bitter glare. Allen's eyes narrow at Lenn's presence, his anger redirecting slightly.
"Another special treatment case? Must be nice having family connections." He mutters loudly enough for Lenn to hear.
"Do not rope me into your own situation. I worked hard getting here without my uncle's help. Sure I got recommendation when I graduated from high school....but I worked hard to get here." Lenn says
Allen scoffs, crossing his arms, "Right. Just another pampered recruit whose uncle's the boss. Bet you never had to face real field danger."
The office door opens slightly as Morgan overhears, "Allen, that's enough. Lenn's abilities speak for themselves. His testing results are exceptional." Morgan's voice carries authority.
Allen shakes his head and leaves slamming the door behind him as it's just Lenn and Morgan. Morgan let's out a frustrated sigh.
"I know it's not my place to say...but what was that about?" Lenn asked
Morgan rubs his temples, looking tired, "Allen's been pushing for Senior Officer status for months. He's skilled but impulsive. Last mission nearly compromised his team."
Morgan gestures for Lenn to enter his office properly.
"He's been frustrated since I denied him. Thinks I'm holding him back because you're my nephew." He sits behind his desk. "How was testing?"
"Passed with flying colors. It was super easy due to you helping me when I was younger." Lenn says walking up towards his uncle and his desk.
A small smile crosses Morgan's face, pride evident, "You always were naturally gifted. But remember - field work is different from training. Allen's five years of experience still matters."
He pulls up Lenn's test data on his terminal. The screen displays Lenn's perfect scores across all psychic categories. Morgan notes something specific.
"Your mental shielding is stronger than even I expected. That's why Allen's jealousy bothers him."
"But yet...I just got here today. How could he have heard about my results so quick?." Lenn asked
Morgan chuckles darkly, "Gossip spreads fast here. Especially when it involves the commander's nephew. Some agents already see you as a potential rival to Allen's position."
"Umm...tell me your not putting me as a Senior Officer already." Lenn says
Morgan shakes his head firmly, "No, not yet. You need field experience first. Senior Officer requires command experience, and you're still learning our protocols."
He leans back in his chair, "Though Allen might see it differently. He'll likely try to prove himself against you now."
"Great....just great..." Lenn sighs feeling a headache coming. Morgan chuckles noticing the uncanny resemblance between uncle and nephew with their "Headaches".
"Anyway...you have a simulation test soon. Head to Alpha Training grounds for it. You'll be put up against pokemon of various species...do good." Morgan says as Lenn smirks with a chuckle and a smile.
"Alright uncle, I mean commander." Lenn says
Morgan waves him off with a knowing look, "Don't "commander" me when we're alone. And watch out for that Raichu they added to the simulator. It's aggressive."
He checks his watch, "Your team is waiting. Good luck, Lenn."
As Lenn heads to the training grounds, he hears whispers from passing agents.
"There he goes... Morgan's nephew..." "Wonder how he'll handle the Raichu..." "Better than Allen would have, probably."
The Alpha Training grounds are massive, with multiple simulation chambers. A technician waits by one labeled "Simulation: Wild Pokemon Encounter."
"Mr. Zujikawa? You're our special guest today. Ready for your first challenge?" The technician says
"I really hate being called the special guest....but let's do this." Lenn says as from his back, he grabs two daggers that are sheathed and attached them to his waist on his back.
The technician notices the daggers with interest.
"Interesting choice of weapons. Psychic users usually rely on mental abilities." *He inputs commands into the console.* "Setting difficulty to intermediate. Three pokemon types - Raichu, Pidgeot, and Charmeleon."
The chamber hums as the simulation begins to activate.
Lenn steps in as he pulls both daggers out and spins them around as he switched the daggers into dual mode then with a flick of his wrists in a throw, he used his psychic to manipulated the movement and cut through the three pokemon with ease.
He then manipulates the blades to fly back to him and catch them.
The simulation pokemon vanish with the strikes, but the system registers Lenn's method as "creative" rather than typical.
"Impressive technique with those daggers. But let's try something more complex." The technician adjusts settings again. "Adding environmental hazards and variable target movements."
The chamber transforms into a forest setting with moving targets appearing.
Pidgeot swoops overhead while Charmeleon darts between trees. Raichu charges electricity in the distance.
"Keep your focus, Mr. Zujikawa. They'll coordinate their attacks now." The technician warns as the simulation intensifies.
Lenn collapsed one dagger and sheathed as with his hand he aimed and psychic attacked the Pidgeot tearing it apart as Charmeleon rushed and tackled forward.*
Lenn casually dodged with a spin and backstabbed into the Charmeleons neck then used his psychic to spin the double sided dagger around fast as Raichu let a thunderbolt.
Lenn aimed and countered with a psychic bolt colliding into the thunderbolt that tore through and hit Raichu.
The Raichu falls, but the simulation continues with more aggressive behavior patterns. The Charmeleon's attack caused minor damage to Lenn's jacket.
"Not bad. But watch your left flank." The technician points as multiple Pidgeot appear, circling for a coordinated dive.
Out of nowhere, Lenn grabbed out a Kunai with a tag and thrown at the group of Pidgey's and exploded.
The explosion takes out several Pidgeot, but one remains, diving straight at Lenn with increased speed.
"Clever with the Kunai. But this one's trained for evasion." The technician observes as the remaining Pidgeot weaves through the air.
With one glare, the Pidgey is held in place and torn apart.
The simulation completes with all targets eliminated. The technician whistles in approval.
"Full clearance. Commander Morgan wasn't exaggerating about your power." He notes something down. "Ready for another round with higher difficulty settings?"
Meanwhile, in another simulation chamber, one finished passing as the rookie from that was a petite female having yellow hair braided in front of her chest and yellow eyes. She just finished putting on the female Slayer Uniform. She happens to catch Lenn in his performance as he expertly and barely using much of his fingers.
"Who is that?" She wondered
The female rookie's chamber shows her as having completed the "Survival Test" with acceptable results. Her yellow eyes watch Lenn's fluid movements with interest.
A senior agent passing by notices her looking, "That's Commander Morgan's nephew. Just arrived today and already showing advanced skill."
The rookie's eyes widen slightly at the mention of Morgan's name. She adjusts her uniform nervously.
"He's... really good with those daggers. And his psychic control is incredible." She whispers to herself, trying to appear professional.
The senior agent chuckles, "First time seeing him in action? Wait till you see him in the field. He's got potential to be a Senior Officer someday."
Meanwhile, Lenn completes another simulation with even less effort than before.
The rookie can't help but stare, impressed by how effortlessly he handles multiple targets. She checks her own test results on her tablet.
"I just barely passed my survival test... he makes it look easy." She mutters, comparing her performance to his.
"Who knows, you and him could be assigned as partners. But I do suggest you work on your electricity Ms. Nakamura." The Senior Agent says
The rookie - Nakamura - blushes slightly at the suggestion.
"Partners with him? But I'm still new... and my electric attacks are weak compared to real field work." She fidgets with her braid.
"And when people are partnered, they share the same dorm room....but of course Separate beds." The Senior Agent says
Nakamura's eyes widen more, her face turning redder.
"S-separate beds or not... I don't know if I could keep up with someone like him. He's so composed and skilled."
"Ah, looks like he's finished....let's see how he did." The Senior Agent brought his tablet up and checked on his simulation score.
The tablet displays Lenn's perfect scores across multiple rounds, with additional notes on his precision and strategic use of psychic and daggers.
"Full marks again. This kid's going to break records." The Senior Agent shakes his head in disbelief.
Nakamura peeks at the screen, seeing the perfect scores. She unconsciously steps closer, curiosity getting the better of her.
"That's... incredible. He hasn't made a single mistake." She whispers, genuinely amazed.
The Senior Agent notices her lingering and smirking, "Want to introduce yourself? Might learn something valuable from watching him train."
Lenn exits the chamber, wiping sweat from his brow but looking unfazed by the intense training.
"Heh?! Huh?! Wh-what? M-me? Meet...him?" Nakamura is a bit nervous.
As Lenn walks away to go get his uniform.
The Senior Agent nudges her gently, "Yes, you. He's not going to bite. And it's good practice for social interactions with other agents."
Lenn heads toward the locker room, unaware of the rookie's hesitation.
Nakamura takes a deep breath, gathering her courage. She follows at a distance, still fidgeting with her braid.
"I-I'm just a rookie... what if he thinks I'm not worth his time?" She mutters, but keeps trailing behind.
In the locker room, Lenn changes into his Slayer uniform - a black and pink version of the standard outfit.
He catches a glimpse of Nakamura's reflection in the mirror as she hovers near the entrance, clearly debating whether to enter.
"Don't be shy, come on in." Lenn says
Startled by being noticed, Nakamura jumps slightly. She hesitantly steps inside, her yellow eyes darting around.
"H-hi... um, I'm Nakamura...Shida Nakamura. The new rookie." She manages to say, standing stiffly.
Lenn turns to face her properly, his pink eyes calm and assessing.
"Nakamura. Nice to meet you. I'm Lenn." He acknowledges with a nod. "First day as a Slayer?"
"Y-yes...and I wouldn't mind if you called me by my first name Shida..." She says
"Shida then." He smiles slightly. "How did your survival test go?"
He closes his locker, still maintaining that composed demeanor. She shifts her weight nervously.
"It was... acceptable. I passed, but my electric attacks were... underwhelming compared to what I saw you do." She admits, glancing at his daggers.
"Do you use weapons to manipulate or accessories to enhance your Type?" Lenn asked
She shakes her head. "No weapons yet. Just basic training gear. I'm working on improving my electric control, but it's slow progress." She looks down at her hands, frustrated.
"Hey, don't feel frustrated. I can help you get better....yeah....count on me to help you get stronger!" Lenn flexes with a cheerful smile.
Her eyes light up with hope at his offer, though she tries to hide her excitement.
"Really? You'd help me? I mean... if it's not too much trouble..." She perks up slightly.
"No trouble at all. I'd like to be your partner." Lenn smiles
A genuine smile breaks through her nervousness.
"Thank you! That would be amazing. I could use someone with your experience." She relaxes a bit more, though still slightly starstruck.
"Well....you found yourself a partner...." Morgan walks up "I'll allow this partnership between you two...Now what is your name miss?"
*Shida straightens up immediately upon seeing Morgan, her rookie instincts kicking in.*
"Commander! I'm Shida Nakamura, sir!" She salutes properly, trying to appear professional.
"For starters, both of you will need these. They are your caps. Second... I'll get you two registered as partners....Lenn Zujikawa...Shida Nakamura... I'd like to officially formally greet you into the Slayer Corp. Welcome." Morgan says looking between the two.
Lenn accepts his cap with a respectful nod, while Shida beams with pride at being officially recognized.
"Thank you, Commander!" She says enthusiastically, though still trying to maintain composure in front of her new partner and his uncle.
