Waiting To Be Rescued
The sun was slipping slowly below the desolate horizon, and with it brought the chill in the air that marked the end of another day. The group of survivors kept to the shadows of the crumbling buildings in the nearly abandoned town, hoping to remain unseen by the monsters that roamed the rugged post-apocalyptic wasteland.
The twelve of them huddled silently together. Some stared absently ahead; others muttered prayers under their breath. All of them desperately searched the sky – they were praying for a sign of salvation, a rescue in the form of aero machine that could take them to safety.
But none appeared, and each sight of hope was ultimately dashed like the waves crashing against the shore. The group knew that if they were to survive, they had to take matters into their own hands.
