Chapter 1: The Summoning

Chapter 1: The Summoning

I had been expecting it, yet when the summons finally came, I was still taken aback. All I could do was to keep my composure and prepare myself for the journey ahead.

The message came from the royal court, summoning me to the capital. I had never been to the city before, and the mere thought of visiting the palace filled me with a mix of excitement and trepidation. I knew I must accept their invitation, for I was a wizard and my magic was needed in times of unrest.

I made the long journey to the capital, stopping in small villages along the way to ask for directions. Everywhere I went, I could sense a strange energy – the people were tense, and the atmosphere of uncertainty was palpable.

When I finally arrived outside the royal palace, I was filled with an even greater sense of apprehension. At the entrance, two guards bowed in respect, took my arm, and led me to the throne room. The Queen was waiting for me, flanked by four old Lords.

Queen Ella was a sight to behold – her dark eyes were both commanding and compassionate, and her voice filled the hall with a gentle yet firm certainty. She informed me that the land of Arin had been in turmoil for centuries ever since the death of the great King Orin and the destruction of his court. Now, in an age of political intrigue and unrest, she had chosen me to take on a mission to restore peace to the kingdom.

I had to do something, and fast, before the kingdom of Arin was lost forever.

How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
