Prologue
Colton "Colt" Williams
I have been a part of the band The Kidd’s since I was around fifteen years old. When Austin Kidd came to Richmond, Mississippi, where I have lived my whole life, we all linked up and formed the band, The Kidd's. Just seemed fitting to make it Austin's last name plus all of us were just kids when we started.
Hunter, Trey and I before Austin had even gotten to town, would play in Hunter’s barn every chance we got when we were kids. When Austin came though, things clicked for us. He was the missing piece to our puzzle for some reason. The four of us have been together for almost fifteen years and without that I am not sure what to do with my life. All I have known is the guys, tour and bus life.
We ended up at the ages of around eighteen and nineteen going to LA to work on an album and began our first tour for our record label Case Records right in the middle of all of that. We have been on the road ever since.
I did have a place in LA, but most of the time I stayed with Hunter at his place and visited my family a good chunk of the time. Now with this break and Chloe being pregnant, Hunter’s space is out of the question now.
We have had a blast as a band and I do not know what I would do without my band, my brothers. I honestly do not know what to do with my current free time.
I get where this hiatus/break was needed. Austin and Andrea would be having their baby girl in month or two after we finished this tour. Hunter and Chloe having twins in about 8 months. Trey needed this off time for Rachel. She was down bad and in last stages of Huntington's disease.
Family also is very important to me. I grew up with not much of a father figure in my life. My father ended up staying in and out of our lives a lot. He did at least bless me with four other siblings, all of them sisters. I have no brothers, and that left me to be the man of the house and help my mother out since she was in desperate need of me. I felt and always have that it was my duty to step up and provide for them. My father was so in and out of our life and every time he came back in, he got mom pregnant and mom kept letting him stick around and the cycle repeated every single time.
As for now, my father has left the state and is staying God knows where currently. Mom also ended up getting fixed right after my last sister, so now she cannot have anymore, which was probably the smartest thing ever.
My sisters are Caroline, Summer, Caitlin, and Sarah. Caroline is twenty-five, which makes her four years younger than me. Summer is twenty-one, she and Austin’s sister Chloe went to school together. They were close by hanging out in the same group together while in school. My next sister is Caitlin, who is seventeen. Then we have the youngest one Sarah, she is sixteen and her and Callie are about eleven months apart. Our parents named us ‘C’ and ‘S’ names to honor their names. Our father’s name is Casey and our mother’s name is Sharon.
Callie and Sarah are the closest in age to one another and have always been super close growing up. Everyone thought they were twins as they got to be about one. Summer was pretty close to Callie and Sarah in age also, but Caitlin and Sarah were just closer in height, and features. Caroline and I have always been pretty close, she is just four years younger than me, so we have always been fairly close and even more once we got a bit older. Caroline has stepped up a lot with the family to help me. She has done so while she had started her own life. She is married to a guy named Rex. He is good to her. She has given me two nieces. Then Summer had a baby right after high school and she is raising him alone.
I have done a lot of sleeping around and never been one to commit, which a lot of that stems from the relationship that I had seen my parents have.
Since that first time I laid my eyes on the fiery brown haired, PR girl I had made it my life's mission to get her. At first the fiery little thing would not give me the time of day, then she softened some towards me. So, the times I could poke her I would just to get her reaction.
When she first had some frustration, she needed to work out, I shot my chance with her. Reluctantly she agreed. Ever since I had found little ways to get her back under me.
Since that first night, the guys assume I still sleep around but I have tried, and no one's does t for me like that sexy spirted girl who hates my damn guts..
