Summary

WHEN FEELINGS DON’T STAY IN THE PAST. — TATUM I’m twenty-seven, newly engaged, and weeks away from taking the bar exam. My life is going exactly the way it’s supposed to, so when my best friend convinces me to spend a week at her family’s lake house, I tell myself it’s a necessary break from hitting the books. That is… until I find out my best friend’s older brother is going, too. Miles Bennet is my first crush, and he’s also the one person I swore I’d never face again. He was supposed to be nothing more than a memory, a heartbreak I packed away, and a summer I left behind. He was supposed to stay in the past, but the truth is, I’ve never really left it. — MILES Tatum Collins was a part of my childhood, and a mistake I’ve never forgiven myself for. I’ve managed to keep myself busy these last ten years coaching baseball, and truthfully, I never thought I’d see Tatum again—but thanks to my sister, we’re forced back together. Only this time she’s older, devastatingly beautiful, and wearing another man’s ring. I tell myself I’ll keep my distance. That whatever happened back then is over, that she’s happy now, that I have no right to want anything from her. But the lake remembers everything, and unfortunately, so do I. author’s note

Hey, you beautiful people! Glad you’re here <3

Quick little note before you start:

This one is a slow burn. There is a ton of tension, lots of history, and so many instances where you’re going to be like, “okay, just kiss already”, and I’m sorry for that in advance.

Tatum is engaged when the story begins, and I want to preface by saying there is a slight case of cheating in this story. So if that’s like totally off the table for your tastes, then this might not be the book for you!

Also, this isn’t as spicy as some of my other books (But there is a good amount!). This book is definitely more of a slow simmer, and I focus a lot more on plot/feelings with this one.

With that, I hope you enjoy Tatum & Miles’s story, and as always, I appreciate your continued love and support. ❤️
