Chapter 1, Apple-Chris

“Once there was a planet named Earth which was destroyed by an evil cursed force; The evil force also went for a system named The Solar System and after that tore through a galaxy name The Milky Way. She wanted to destroy the world after that but was defeated by the only survivor of earth, Agatha Crystal, the creator of Crystalline, Our planet.

The people in our planet are divided into two groups with different beliefs.

Magicers, people who believe in magic, say that Agatha Crystal made our planet with the remaining pieces of earth and crystals using magic.

Knowledgers, people who don’t believe in magic, say that Agatha Crystal was made when a mad scientist replaced the heart of his kid with a crystal.

What are you?...”

I smiled glancing up at muffin, my blue-haired dog. She was wiggling her tail in excitement, every morning I had to read the same book to her and she’d be happy like it was day one.

I got down my bed and kneeled in front of her, ruffling her hair. “A Knowledger of course…”

Her whole body suddenly froze, eyes going wide again staring through my soul. shit… I thought I was safe for today… She started opening and closing her mouth robotically. I felt my shoulders hunch so hard that they touched my ears.

Fuck it Apple-Chris! Stop looking into her eyes! Can’t… Can’t!

Just when I was seconds away from passing out, Alfred, my babysitter robot, sounded his alarm and muffin went back to normal, licked my face and ran away.

“Phew…That was close….” I muttered standing up and pressing Alfred’s button. “It’s fine Alfred, I’m already up”

He nodded and followed me to the bathroom, handed me my green brush and smiled gently as I brushed through my short golden-yellow hair.

After I was done, I looked at myself in the mirror to check if my hair looked good, my eyes locked into the chunk of white hair in my bangs and I sighed, can a hair be neat with that?...

I tore my eyes off the mirror and started running to mother’s bedroom, had to say good morning or I’d end up in the shark pool, harsh? Yeah, I know… mother is… um…. Special…

Before I could knock on the door I saw a note stuck to it, I tore it off and began reading as Alfred caught up with me.

“Your sister and I went to a meeting.Go to your aunt’s castle or sleep in the park.

~Clara Whilson John, Mother”

Tears slowly filled my eyes, why the hell was I crying again?! Why was it still new to me that mother liked Apple better?...

Apple was always the better one, hotter, prettier, more social, more everything-good-in-the-world

I stared at the letter again.

Sleep in the park

Kept reading it through blurry vision until a metallic hand snatched it out of my hand, I turned, Matilda, my other babysitter robot.

She scanned the letter, even though her robotic face stayed unmoving I could see her silver body shaking from anger.

She slowly kneeled down and pulled me in, whispering in my ear “don’t worry about her baby. You know that we love you more than anything in the world…”

I closed my eyes and leaned into her arms; the words were meant to confront me but they only made the ache in my heart flare hotter. Reminding me of the reason I made her and Alfred in the first place…

To finally have someone in the world that loved me and would always be there for me…

After a minute she pulled away, giving me my backpack, turning towards Alfred, “Don’t let those teenagers eat her alive!” she said crossing her arms and walking away.

As you can tell school was no better, a seven-year-old won’t be accepted among eighteen-year-olds.

I was standing in front of my locker, looking for my biology book, begging the world to spare me for today…

“Hey Apple-Chris! You didn’t forget my homework, did you?!”

A chill ran down my spine. Christina Gut, the queen bee, the mean girl, whatever you call it. Worst of all, the daughter of the principal that could get me fired in a damn second!

I slowly turned, forcing a smile, it soon went crooked as fuck when I saw her boyfriend behind her, Josh Brown, as big and chunky as a teenager can get, terribly strong, and, of course, always eager to beat the shit out of me.

“Christina! Hi! Real pleasure to see you!” I chuckled awkwardly, “you see... um… how do I put this?... I kinda forgot to bring your homework…”

I took a step back as Josh started cracking his knuckles, “I’m sure we can talk it out, non-violantly?...”

Christina smirked, stepping away from Josh’s way as he started approaching me. Before I can bolt away, he grabbed my black tie and pulled me up, throwing my books out of my locker and shoving me in it, my breath got knocked out of my lungs as my back hit the yellow metal.

Christina picked up my backpack, taking out my own homework and hugging it to her chest.

“Christina please! Dr. Green would never give you an F because of your dad… but an F could ruin my position, my future, my_”

“Then I guess you better pull your shit together as soon as you can and write another one…”

She nodded at josh and before I knew it his fist came flying to my face and everything went black…

I stepped into my aunt’s castle holding an icepack to my nose, I bet its swollen, hurts like hell.

I was passed out in my locker for two damn hours, and then I got detention for missing class.

I walk into the main hall, Cara’s there talking to a servant, she turns and her face pales seeing mine, after all you don’t see your cousin with a swollen nose every day.

And five minutes later I’m being questioned about everything as a Matilda examines my nose.

“Auntie I swear_”

“SILENCE! You promised me to tell me if there was anything wrong at school! And now you come home beaten up! Just give me their name and they’ll be banished from Verrelis!”

Banishing Josh and Christina from Verrelis sounded like the best option on the table, but nobody at school knew that I came from a royal family, I mean if they did, I had to be surrounded by fake friends who were thirsty for our wealth or our power, so banishing them would absolutely blow my cover.

“Sweetheart… if you’d just let me help… it’ll fix everything…”

No it would not! Why do grown ups think they can fix everything when all they do make things worse?!

I hate it! So damn much! Hate it when everyone want to control my life!

I’m so tired of everything!

Of aunt Chloe and Cara for caring!

Of my mom and Apple for not caring!

Of Josh and Christina for hating me!

Of Alfred and Matilda for loving me!

“STOP! Fucking get off my back!” I yelled pushing Matilda away and running to the stairs, “I’m fine! Everything is fine! I don’t need anything!” I kept yelling as I ran up to my room.

“Just fucking LEAVE ME ALONE!” I yelled as I slammed my door shut, sank to the floor right there and started crying in my knees.

I cried so hard that I didn’t hear my aunt tell Cara how worried she was for me…

I cried so hard that I didn’t hear Cara call the most optimistic person in the whole world:

Melissa Molly Robert
