Chapter 1
Before the Last Thought Dies
I used to stand with the people who said AI could never replace art
Until I realized that the resistance was only meant to fall apart.
Because in a world where everyone is moving too fast and you need to make your space,
You’ll forget about what’s right and go along with the pace.
And soon enough, they’ll justify it; like they do with every crime.
No one cares who wrote the poem as long as it rhymes.
The tweets, the posts, the screams- everything will soon die.
Eventually to the loss of individuality, no one will bat an eye.
And perhaps it’s true that AI could never show emotions that humans have,
But if humans let it kill their creativity, there won’t be anything for AI to lack.
Because how could you be deficient in something that doesn’t even exist,
And then the beauty of perfection will be the only thing that persists.
And sure, you can train your AI to mirror every part of you,
But does it matter if, in the end, no one knows you like they used to?
Because when everything you do is done by AI,
Is it still just a tool, or have you become its marionai?
And even if we control AI enough to not take over the world,
It’s already started to kill from inside, as the curiosity starts to curl.
And no one sees this truly, except the people that do,
The rest just see their story and continue to scroll through.
But who am I to say anything, if I too am going with the flow,
Because if using AI is the only thing that’ll feed my family, I’ll let my stubbornness go.
So, yeah I’ll shut my mouth, drop my pen and start to type,
And give in to the world of AI while I watch the last thought die.
