Intense & beautiful
"At some point I throught it was going to be the same high school drama... boy likes girl, other girl was “first” etc. But it was so deep, intense and I don’t even have the right words. I couldn’t stop reading this book. I hope more teenagers were that mature and understanding. And it’s beautiful when the one who was bullied doesn’t turn out to be a bully themself. It took me a while to understand that what happens to you in life doesn’t define you as a person or what your future should look like. It takes a lot of effort, (auto) compassion and a “village” to overcome bad experiences, losses, addictions and whatever curve ball life throws at us. And the characters showed respect, love, understanding, and a lot of support! I know it’s “just” a book, but it moved me in ways that I can’t even express. Every book, story, heals something in me (us?). Thank you! 🩷"

"Read story straight through. Not quite what I expected from the best friend's brother trope-it was layered, funny, uncomfortable, and emotional at times. Great if you like a slow build and relatable characters starting to figure out who they are within themselves and in relation to each other. A quick read with satisfying ending. Gia was relatable and sweet, and Ethan was intriguing, intense, and charming all at once. Didn't see that coming with the family dynamics and his past. Solid dialogue. Spice included but not excessive. Loved the tension between them. Loved Gia's friends, would love to know what happened with Adam and Rachael. Good job!"

"Falling For My Best Friend's Twin Brother by CPR361 is exactly the kind of slow burn that makes you forget you're waiting for anything, because you're too busy enjoying the wait. It opens with a genuinely great cute meet, a literal collision in a crowded school hallway, the kind of moment that could've been played for cheap instant sparks and instead gets treated as just the first domino. CPR361 clearly understands that a good slow burn isn't about withholding, it's about earning. Gia and Ethan don't fall into each other. They circle. A forced-partner psych project, a ride home that isn't quite a date, a hundred small moments where one of them almost says the real thing and doesn't, all of it stacking up so gradually you don't notice the weight until it's already landed. Yes folks...the tension is tensioning! What really sets this book apart is how it handles obstacles that feel like actual obstacles instead of manufactured drama. There's no shortage of romance novels where the "will they won't they" hinges on a dumb misunderstanding that one honest conversation would fix in a page. This one doesn't do that. The things standing between Gia and Ethan are real: his guardedness, his history, a lingering ex whose motives take real time to untangle, a family situation that gives his walls actual foundation instead of vague brooding. CPR361 lets Ethan be genuinely hard to reach, and lets Gia's patience and growing feelings mean something because of it. The supporting cast pulls real weight too. Gia's best friend is warm and sharp and gets her own quiet emotional arc running parallel to the main romance instead of just existing to give advice from the sidelines, and the ex-girlfriend subplot, which could've gone the easy mean-girl route, instead resolves with more grace and honesty than most books bother with. By the time the emotional centerpiece of the book hits, and it hits hard, you've earned every bit of the vulnerability on the page, because CPR361 spent the whole book building the trust required for it to land. This is book two in a loosely connected series, and if this is any indication of what CPR361 does with a slow burn, I'm genuinely excited to see where the rest of the series goes. Also, this book is in audiobook format as well and the audiobook is genuinely a good audiobook, the voicing is consistent, the emotion and ohhs and awwws survive the shift from book to audio. So if you preferred format is audiobook, this is a good one to pick up...listen to it on your way to work tomorrow! Okay I need to say this part just as me for a second. There's a chapter in the back half that wrecked me a little and I love when a book does that.
