Chapter 1

The story begins...

My stomach starts to growl. A sudden pain starts slowly in my stomach. I woke up from my sleep; I knew it, she came. The date says it all.

“Hellooooo,” Pinky whispered.

After hearing her voice, I got sad. For the next 5 days, I have to bear her.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!” I shouted.

I changed my pad. She came near me.

“Why are you shouting? I am with you only, you know,” Pinky said.

“Because of you only I shouted!” I said to her. “Now leave me alone for some time. I have work tomorrow; I have to sleep.”

She said, “Ok,” and slept beside me.

The next day, I woke up. The first face I saw was Pinky.

“Hi,” she said.

I gave her a cranky reaction and went to the bathroom to bathe and get ready for work. When I stepped in—ahhh, my stomach! It started to pain; I couldn’t even move my legs. It was paining like hell. I saw her smiling.

“The punishment for your reaction,” she said.

“I am sorry, reduce it,” I told her.

“Ok, ok,” she told me and reduced it slightly.

Ahhhhhh god, I can’t even bear it for a few minutes; how am I going to bear it for the next few days? After bathing, I came out. She was simply sitting on my bed.

“You are going for work, ah?” she asked.

I said, “Yes.”

“Don’t go,” she said.

“I have a meeting today, I can’t skip it,” I said.

“Work from home,” she replied.

I glared at her and went outside to finish my breakfast. My mom knew Pinky came yesterday night, so she didn’t say anything as she knew the pain. After eating breakfast, I said, “Bye Mom,” and stepped out of my home. The pain started again, and with dizziness. Pinky was laughing after seeing me.

“I told you not to go. See how you are suffering by not listening?”

I didn’t even have the strength to go out anymore. She sucked all my energy. I mailed my boss: I will do work from home today.

“If you had listened to me earlier, now this wouldn’t have happened, right?”

I stared at her and asked, “What do you want?”

“Nothing, it’s boring. Bring me snacks; I am going to watch TV.”

I gave her snacks. She was enjoying herself, and me? I was attending a boring meeting. After the meeting, I went out to see what my mom was doing. She was sitting with Pinky and was enjoying watching TV.

“Mom!” I yelled. “I am hungry.”

“Wait for a few minutes,” she said and continued watching TV.

“Mom!” I yelled again.

My mom saw Pinky, and she did the magic, and now suddenly I felt like I was full. Ahhh, this Pinky and Mom.

“You will also get to face this. Wait and see what I will do when Pinky comes for you,” I said angrily and slammed my room door.

I slept for a few hours. I felt refreshed; it was calm and composed. I felt warmth. It was like a dream until I saw Pinky again.

“Helllooo,” she came near me excitedly.

“What?” I said.

“Let’s go out,” she said.

“Nooo,” I replied and started to sleep again.

“Come, let’s go out, pleaseeee,” she was whining in my ears.

“Okkk,” I said and got ready.

“Come, let’s go,” she said. I followed her.

“Where do you want to go?” I asked.

“I want to eat ice cream.”

We went to the ice cream parlor. She ate three ice creams, including mine. I was not even able to move; the flow was heavy. I asked her to slow it down. She was blank and said, “Ok.” Now only I got relief.

“Now I want pizza,” she said.

“Ahhh, now only you ate ice cream,” she whined again and increased my flow.

“Ok, ok, I understand. Let’s go,” I told her.

She ate pizza, juice, and whatever she wanted, but I was not able to eat it. I saw her eating and got full by seeing it myself.

“See, I have to go to work tomorrow. Don’t do this tomorrow, ok? I will buy you whatever you want, but please leave me alone for a few seconds, ok?”

She nodded her head.

The next day, it was time. I yelled at my mom, “Why didn’t you wake me?”

She told me, “I tried, but you didn’t wake up.”

Pinky was sitting calmly and was watching me.

“Because of you only I woke up late. See the time!”

I went urgently to the office. She followed me, of course. She is familiar to everyone.

“Hiii,” she greeted every girl and followed me.

“Wait here,” I said to her and attended a meeting.

The meeting went smoothly, but not my stomach. After the meeting, I went to the washroom and was sitting there for half an hour. It was paining like hell. I couldn’t move; I thought of dying, the pain was like that, and I started to sweat. Pinky knocked on the door. I came outside and saw her. I was in a dying state.

She said, “It’s my job. I can’t do anything. I can make it less only.”

We went to the canteen to drink juice. She got me watermelon juice. After that, my energy came back. The mood swing—I wanted to cry, but I was in the office. Finally, the day ended, and we went home by train. It was so crowded; I couldn’t even stand properly.

“It’s ok,” she said and calmed me.

When we reached the destination, my life came back. I slept after eating dinner.

“Today was a rough day,” my mom said. “She can’t bear so much pain. Please give her less.”

Pinky replied, “I can’t. It’s my only job to do it. Every female has to undergo this because it is structured like this. The more the pain, the more she has to bear. Some girls are lucky where they won’t even get a single pain in periods; that’s a boon. We can’t do anything. At the same time, a girl can suffer the highest pain; it can lead to death also. We don’t have it in our hands; it’s their body.”

I heard what Pinky was saying. My eyes got tears. Me and Mom are only living together; my father left us, he didn’t even care about us. The house is running with my salary only. The pain, the stress, everything we have to bear. We can cry and let it out; it only gives calmness to get ready to solve the problem. Every woman suffers with this. We can’t change it, but we have the strength to bear it, and that is why we are women. Every lady in this world is strong. They can beat everyone in this world.

Next morning, I got a pimple. I asked, “Why did you give me this now?”

She said, “It’s beautiful. See, your face is expelling the toxins. It’s good for you.”

“When will you go?” I yelled at her.

My mood swing started again. I wanted to eat chocolate, but I can’t. It’s frustrating. I went to the office and did my job. She followed me everywhere I was going. We returned home.

She said, “It’s your last day. Take rest. I will come next month. Byeeeeeee.”

And I slept peacefully.
