I didn't come out of my bedroom all damn day, I hadn't had anything to eat and i was starting to get hungry, james had fallen asleep at work and finished his last email, before grabbing a shower at his job and heading out to his house when he got in the car, my father was calling him and he quickly answered the call not knowing my dad was literally gonna start some shit.

James: Hey.

Manuel: Hey. I need to talk to you.

James: What's up ?

Manuel: What's going on with you & Amber ?

James: What do you mean ?

Manuel: Well, you're making out with her so I'm curious to know what's going on.

James: Umm...nothing that i know of. It was just a kiss. Why do you ask ?

Manuel: Because i find it weird you're making out with my daughter, especially with the current situation.

James: I don't find it weird at all. We just connected is all. The energy was there and we just kissed. I like her a lot, what's the problem exactly ?

Manuel: My problem is you James. This is really disrespectful, you could've chosen to do this at any other given time and don't you have bitches lined up. I'm not gonna let you hurt her. I won't let another one of you motherfuckers hurt her. I won't do it.

James: Whoa, you need to calm down. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, we mostly talked and we just...why are you giving me such a hard time about this ? Did she say something to you ?

Manuel: No she didn't say anything to me. Why are you even worried about that ? You do something i should know about.

James: No, I just want to know why you're treating me like a piece of shit for a simple fucking kiss, how did you know that anyways ?

Manuel: You're mother has cameras in the house.

James: Yeah, I got it.

Manuel: Good, I gotta go.

James, sat in his car for an entire 30 minutes just dissociating just reenacting the entire phone call with my dad, he was clearly very upset to the point his eyes started watering up and he just wide the tear from his eyes before it decided to fall down and he hit the steering wheel hard as fuck and just started to back out of the parking lot, he was really mad and upset that once he got home, he poured himself a glass of whiskey and sat down on the couch and started to text me. I was getting ready to hang out with him later when he texted me he had to talk to me and if I had a minute to get on call with him so I let him know of course that i was getting ready to hang out with him and he called me pretty quick and I answered it fast.

James: Hi, beautiful.

Amber: Hiii...*blushes*

James: We have a big problem.

Amber: What's up ?

James: I'm gonna have to cancel today...

Amber: Oh, yeah that's fine did you want to go another day when you're free ?

James: That's what i wanted to talk to you about. I can't really hang out with you, ever.

Amber: Uh..why not ? Did I do something wrong ? * tears up *

James: No, no you didn't do anything wrong at all. You're dad called me up later today and he was just yelling at me, threatening me and he doesn't exactly want me to be near you, he's angry about the whole kissing thing and he's just giving me a lot of shit and treating me like shit over it and I don't want any problems with him or to get you in anymore trouble. I'm sorry...

Amber: What did he say ? What did he tell you ?

James: He told me to stay away from you and the next time that i touch you he's gonna beat my ass, he told me he wasn't going to let another man hurt you again, it was just a lot of things and I'm honestly pretty upset about all of this and I don't want to make it worse then i already have, I'm really sorry.

Amber: *crying silently* I..see...* swallows hard *

James: I was really looking forward to today but..

Amber: Yeah, so was i...

James: I'm sorry for kissing you...I'm sorry if you feel it was disrespectful, I just...I just thought you felt the same way.

Amber: Why are you apologizing to me ? You didn't do anything wrong, I never said you were being disrespectful like at all, I do feel the same way it's why I kissed you back...

James: He's just making me overthink everything. I just feel like an asshole I don't know. I guess we can hang out when we're all together as a family. I just don't want to start anymore drama.

Amber: *sniff* I..understand....that's fine...

James: Okay....i'm really sorry.

Amber: It's fine....umm...I gotta go.

James: Are you mad at me ?

Amber: No....i just...I gotta go. * hangs up *

James, sat there staring at the phone after i hung up on him and he decided to throw the phone across the room and just pour himself drink after drink, i started bawling my eyes out because yet again someone is controlling what the fuck i do with my life, i decided to drown my thoughts in music and unpack my stuff, by the time akamu and amy came home i was still upstairs, they had left me breakfast that i didn't touch and akamu, decided to come check on me and i told him to come in.

Akamu: Hey, why don't you eat your breakfast ?

Amber: I haven't left my room all day.

Akamu: Have you been crying ?

Amber: Yeah but I'll be fine.

Akamu: What's going on ?

Amber: Nothing.

Akamu: Wasn't James supposed to come over ?

Amber: Yeah but he cancelled.

Akamu: Did he tell you why ?

Amber: Yeah.

Akamu: Okay, is that why you're upset ?

Amber: Part of it, I don't want to talk about it.

Amy: What's going on ?

Akamu: That's what I'm trying to find out.

Amy: Did something happen ?

Amber: I don't want to talk about it.

Akamu: Alright, did you have something to eat at least ?

Amber: No, I'm not hungry.

Akamu: You haven't eaten all day ?

Amber: I'm not hungry. I'll be fine. I have water.

Amy: Sweetheart, you gotta eat something.

Akamu: Please, tell me what happened.

Amber: I just can't talk about it right now.

Amy: I'll ask james...

Akamu: We can't help you unless you communicate.

Amber: That's not the way i operate unfortunately. I just need some time to get over things. I'm trying to clear my head but it takes so long so just give until tomorrow.

Akamu: Okay....i don't like seeing you upset.

Amber: Maybe it was a mistake coming here.

Akamu: No, no absolutely not. Why would you say that ?

Amber: No matter where i go misery follows. I'm not only upset about Shane, I'm upset about my own mental health declining, my dad and now the issue with James. I should've stayed home. *sobbing* Every time I have an ounce of happiness something or someone always ruins it. I'm just so tired of life.

Akamu: If it means anything I'm glad you're here. This is the place you've always dreamed of visiting no matter how hard it gets just know what you've achieved so far don't let anyone stop you from reaching your goal. Whatever happened it can be fixed.

Amy: James is saying he doesn't want to talk about it either. What happened Amber ? James tells us everything and it's like you've both shut down.

Amber: I'll tell you everything tomorrow.

Akamu: Tomorrow we were thinking about taking a little family trip to the falls, stay awhile in the mountains, maybe that'll cheer you guys up.

Amber: I don't know about that but I'm down to come.

Amy: Good. Linda said she would be here today too didn't she ?

Amber: She came earlier already.

Amy: Did you tell her ?

Amber: She knew.

Amy: Answer me one thing, is this about Manuel ?

Amber: Yeah....he just ruins everything...

Akamu: Of course he does...

Amy: He's starting to piss me off akamu.

Akamu: Please get something to eat.

Amber: I will when i can stomach eating again.

Akamu: Alright, make sure you pack.

Amber: I will.

I was very depressed, and through my depression i packed a bag for the weekend, I wasn't exactly looking forward to this but they were right i couldn't let my father and this bullshit set me back I'm here in Hawaii and I don't know why I'm feeling like this is the end of the world, seeing him tomorrow was gonna really hurt me, all i can think about is him and it was fucking killing me to know what the fuck is wrong with me, it's not like he's my fucking boyfriend or anything but my feelings are fucking hurt and knowing my father is trying to stop a good man like him from further pursuing anything of the romantic nature with me really pisses me off because who does he think he is. In the morning i brought my bags down from my room and james was already downstairs, his parents looked really fucking pissed and akamu whispered in my ear they knew everything so i didn't have to say anything, all it took was one look from him and i was feeling the tears start up again.

James: Good morning beautiful.

Amber: Morning.

I sat down right across from him and had my head down and then my parents came in and he looked away so my dad didn't give him any shit, he pretended like nothing happened except me I refused to kiss his ass and forget about what he fucking done to me, he tried giving me a hug and i took his hands right off of me and i told him not to touch me and he gave me a kiss anyway on my cheek and i wiped it off and my mom looked at both of us with such a sad look upon her face and she tried her best to be there for us but james started texting me i ignored my notifications and he slowly touched my leg with his foot and i looked over at him and he made sure dad wasn't watching and he told me to check my phone. I picked it up off the table and opened my texts and i read the text. " Are you mad at me ? " i shook my head at him and i texted back " I'm just sad. " he replied back " me, too. " I had the bright idea to say fuck it maybe we could keep this on the down low so i texted him " I won't let him control us, do you want to maybe keep it a secret ? " He looked over at me smiling and shook his head up and down, agreeing to it. He couldn't keep us from talking to each other so i just started up a random conversation, he kept looking over at us both and he decided to walk past everybody and we were literally talking about food and here he came to sit down to listen to us both, we couldn't even have a conversation without him interrupting, he was giving james a real nasty look and he choose to end the conversation and grabbed his beer and walked away.

Manuel: You know I love you right.

Amber: If you do or don't, doesn't matter to me.

Manuel: I'm just looking out for you.

Amber: I don't need you to do that. I've taken care of myself and will continue to do so, you telling him all those things wasn't necessary.

Manuel: I want to understand.

Amber: There's nothing to understand.

Manuel: I don't want someone else to hurt you.

Amber: Do you think he will ? Sincerely ?

Manuel: No but I'm not taking any chances.

Amber: This is my life, dad.

Manuel: I don't want to lose you again.

Amber: Acting this way, you will.

Manuel: What do you know about him ?

Amber: Not much but I'd like to know more.

Manuel: I don't want to fight with you.

Amber: I don't either but you just...

Manuel: Okay, you're right. I just don't want you to make a mistake. Don't you think this is a little bit too quick.

Amber: I haven't been kissed in years dad, you make me feel like some kind of slut or something for just enjoying the fact a man noticed me and actually likes me. You don't think I'm scared ? I'm terrified of love but I don't know I like him, it was an impulsive act and I don't regret it one bit.

Manuel: I didn't want to make you feel like that. I just don't trust any fucking man around you and especially when he has women who come over to fuck him all the time.

Amber: He said it's been three weeks...that doesn't seem like it's all the time.

Manuel: Doesn't matter he's got three bitches he fucks all the time and I just don't think that's someone you should be going around making out with.

Amber: He's a single man, do you truly expect him to not have fun and just unwind with someone he's familiar with ? I don't care who he fucks that's none of my business. I just met him.

Manuel: That's the problem, you just met him. There was no reason for you to make out that heavily with him. Not without at least knowing more about him.

Amber: You didn't need to threaten him. If you want to be mad at someone be mad at me not him he hasn't done anything wrong.

Manuel: You can try and protect him all you want but he's old enough to know you just don't act like this.

Amber: Act like what ?

Manuel: A fucking man whore. He's a player.

Amber: That's funny because i didn't catch that vibe.

Manuel: Just cause you didn't catch it doesn't mean it's not true. James, isn't a bad man but he's just not someone I'd see you with.

Amber: What does that even mean ?

Manuel: He hangs out with a certain crowd.

Amber: What kind of crowd ?

Manuel: The type of crowd that would make fun of you for your size, you and him just don't mix and the sooner you realize this, the better off you will be. He just hangs around assholes I don't like and with his status you just aren't the ideal woman for him even if you are his type and he's got issues of his own to handle. You don't need anything like that right now. I'm trying to save you.

Amber: * tears up * I see...

James was listening to the entire thing and he kind of just sat down on the ground and breathed in deeply and just slammed his head back against the wall and before leaving we all got in the truck and me and him sat together in the back and there wasn't a look given or a word said, my father kept looking back at us and my mom looked at him and shook her head, I'm hoping this trip turns out to be good because i seriously didn't want it to be ruined, i was already pretty upset, James put some headphones on and listened to music all the way to the hotel, i tried to take a nap but i found myself crying silently and trying not to be caught, everything my dad told me sort of made me really insecure and honestly i know this whole trip is not going to make a difference to me, once we arrived there, Amy and Akamu made sure both them and my parents had a room all to themselves and me and James was gonna share but due to the issues we got separate rooms, it was honestly really pretty with a beautiful view of the mountains and waterfalls and a nice pool to go with it, but this room was too big for one person, it almost seemed annoying, like all this money spent on a giant room made for two people this is seriously stupid, i didn't even bother unpacking, my mom came knocking on my door and she let herself in.

Linda: Hey.

Amber: Hey.

Linda: I heard everything you guys talked about and so did James. He's pretty upset about it all.

Amber: Yeah, i kind of figured. Dad, sure has a way to ruin everything.

Linda: I gotta ask you. Just out of curiosity, were you serious about the whole, you'd never want to be in a relationship again...

Amber: Oh, i was serious and then i met him.

Linda: *smiles* Is there a reason for that ?

Amber: I wish i knew. I just know i like him.

Linda: I don't blame you at all.

Amber: Now dad has me overthinking.

Linda: You're dad is trying to get you to back off of him. James is a great man and he's the most loyal and faithful man you could ever ask for. He has never cheated, he has never lied, he has never put his hands on someone, he's not perfect but no one is. You and him have more in common then you think, you've both been through a lot and i really believe there is a reason you found an attraction in each other and only you two know what that is, I fully support whatever you both decide to do.

Amber: Thank you. It just really sucks the way he's acting and i just feel really fucking sad about this I don't understand why i even care but it fucking hurts me the way he's trying to control my life and the things he said to him, I don't like that. The one time i feel like a guy truly likes me and he ruins the whole experience.

Linda: Don't let your father ruin it. Don't give him the satisfaction. If you like him and you want to get to know him. Do just that even if you keep it a secret. Nothing is more fun than a forbidden romance. It hurts to know he's acting the same way his father acted towards me...I'll talk to him just give me some time after the trip.

Amber: Take all the time you need. I appreciate you for being here for me.

Linda: Of course, now get dressed we are gonna go to the spa and get our nails done, just you, me and Amy.

Amber: Alright, give me a little bit.

Linda: I packed a robe for you.

Amber: Awesome. I'll go ahead and wear it.

I changed into my robe and waited for Amy and my mon to finish getting ready, i seen akamu and dad walk past me and akamu touched my face and smiled, dad pretty much ignored me and i seen james come out his room and he was wearing a pretty tight tank top and of course i stared right at him, and he choose to slip me a note by dropping it on my lap as he walked past and he looked back at me and winked and i smiled at him and opened the note he told me to meet him at the bar downstairs called the oasis lounge at 11:30 there wasn't gonna be anyone there, after a certain hour since he's been here before and knows the in's and outs of the place and it was gonna be a place we could escape to, to be " together " and hang out and have a good time. I was so excited and amy saw the note and pulled me into her room and i told her everything and they we're gonna make sure i looked good before meeting up with him. I had the most amazing time with them at the spa, the massages were so reliving of all my stress and anxiety and it was much needed, we even got foot massages, pedicures and manicures and for our nails done after we all were due for an update we spent a few hours at the spa and when we walked out the boys were coming back, they decided for us all to go get some dinner, so we all changed and walked out of our rooms but only me and james were ready and once again it was us all alone, so he slowly walked over to me.

James: You look beautiful.

Amber: * blushes* Thank you, so do you.

James: Thank you. You read the note ?

Amber: Yeah, I'll meet you there.

James: Alright.

Amber: This is kind of exciting.

James: And nerve wrecking too..

Amber: The shit we gotta do, man.

James: I never had to deal with this.

Amber: I'm sorry...I haven't either...

I sort of shoved him and he started dancing and i looked at him up and down and dad came out and started joint him and so did akamu I couldn't stop smiling he was trying to play off the fact he was just talking to me, nobody noticed a single thing but these cameras in the lobbies. We all walked towards the restaurant and since dad and my mom were occupied she made sure we could stand together and i grabbed a hold of his arm while james was distracted, he held my hand and he gave me a quick kiss on the hand and one on my cheek and by the time my dad started to turn around he saw james checking me out and he told him to keep his eyes to himself and james told him he couldn't control what he looked at no matter how had he tried he loved what he seen when he looked at me and it pissed my dad off so bad, i was wearing a very provocative dress and he told me to pull up my dress and i said no while smiling and made them even poke out some more and sat down next to james to make him even more mad, my mom started giggling because he wasn't gonna cause a scene but he told james to switch seats with him but i pretended he had something on his shoulder and i touched him on purpose to piss him off even more for that, the smile he gave me almost sent him into a coma, akamu was already tired of my dad's nonsense. We ordered our drinks and our food and i kept looking over at james through the menu and he did the same and I couldn't stop giggling and dad look over at me and asked me what's so funny, I didn't respond I just gave him a look and pushed my tits back up, james was looking right at them and started drinking from his glass loudly and amy couldn't even look at anyone, my dad started shaking his leg up and down and my mom just stared at him all pissed off she just couldn't believe he was acting like this.

Manuel: James, you inviting your little girlfriends over ?

James: This is a family trip and they're just friends. I have no romantic interest in them or they with me. You know that, I don't know why you're bringing it up. *Amber rolls her eyes*

Linda: Manuel, stop it. Right now.

Manuel: I'm just asking.

Akamu: No you're trying to start drama.

Amber: Ignore him.

Manuel: I don't think you want to ignore me.

Amber: Anyways...

Manuel: Amber, don't piss me off.. you're already doing enough...

My dad straight up slapped me right across my face and knocked the breath right out of me, he looked over at me with my hand on my cheek he literally had made my mouth bleed.

James: What the fuck!

Linda: Manuel!

Amber: Are you fucking insane ?

Manuel: Disrespect me like that again.

Amber: *tears up* Get the fuck away from me.

Manuel: Amber...

Linda: Don't you dare.

James: You touch her again and we're gonna have problems. I don't give a shit what your issue is, or what little rules you think you have over me and her you fucking slap her again I'm gonna beat your ass. Don't put your hands on her again do you understand ?

Manuel: Are you out of your fucking mind james ? You're threatening me. Sit the fuck back down.

Linda: What the hell has gotten into you ?

Amber: I'm going to my room.

James: Amber, wait.

James: I'm gonna go check on her.

Manuel: The hell you will!

Akamu: I think it's best you just let this go.

Manuel: I ain't letting shit go.

Linda: Manuel, have you any idea what you've done.

Manuel: Taught her to respect me.

Linda: All this because of James ? Are you serious ? We need to have a talk right the fuck now. Let's go. Dinner's over. Let's go now!

Amy: Let's order take out I really can't believe he did this. Make sure to leave them some money for the trouble.

Akamu: I got it covered don't worry.

James was right after me and he told me to top and he checked on my face and got some napkins from a nearby table and helped me rub off the blood of my lip, he cleaned up the cut on my face too, I seen my parents right behind us arguing and here comes dad and we both started to walk away and dad followed, he pushed james unto the wall and james punched him so hard across the face my dad landed on his ass, I mean he went down so quick he was seeing stars, he looked right at james and couldn't even get up, we played it off like he fell over so we wouldn't get kicked out but since james is the owner of the hotel he got away with it, mom and akamu had to help him up, james grabbed a hold of my hand and we both walked away, my dad tried to say something but my mom just told him to shut up. Me and james went back to my room and he grabbed a medkit since his bedroom was next door so he sort of left the door open, i told him he could just move into my room and he did without hesitation and he gave the room back to housekeeping and explained the situation and she made sure to return the key with James's note and clean the bedroom for another guest. I was still bleeding a little bit so, james cleaned me up again and put a bandaid over my cheek. He had a bloody knuckle himself. He stood there in front of me, looking right into my eyes.

James: God, you're so beautiful.

Amber: Even all fucked up like this ?

James: Yeah...even all fucked up.

Amber: I'm glad you think so.

James: You're driving me insane, woman.

Amber: Why ? What did I do ?

James: Nothing, you're just...I just feel like I need to be with you...

Amber: So be with me, I'm right here.

James: We can just take it one step at a time. I'm not going to rush you, I'll teach you how to love, I'll show you, I'd love to show you how love is supposed to be. You don't have to be afraid of me.

James: I knew you'd bring that up. I ended things with them, if you don't believe me you can read my texts, I don't have a password on my phone so you can feel free to check anytime.

Amber: I don't want to do that. I just want to straight out just trust you. This feels kind of wrong, it's not my place to tell you, you can't fuck them.

James: It's been awhile I really don't give a fuck about any of that or them. I was only with them so i wasn't lonely, I've been wanting a relationship they just don't want to date so that's why I had friends with benefits. I'd like to have you instead. Read the texts, so you know I'm serious. I have nothing to hide, I never will.

Amber: Okay, fine. I'll read through everything.

James: If you find something you don't like you can delete it and if you want to ask me about it, go ahead. I know there are some dirty pictures and videos in there so i gotta delete those it's not like i look at em anyway.

Amber: Thank you for telling me, I'm deleting them. * james chuckles * What's so funny ? You're only allowed to look at me.

James: Do you have dirty pictures of yourself ?

Amber: Yeah, on my phone.

Amber: Yeah, go ahead. *hands him my phone*

James: Hold on let me put my glasses on.

James: I can't see from afar, besides i want to look closer at these anyways. See how dirty you've been. * Amber scoffs *
