Prologue

“What’s that?” he asked me.

“Our freedom!” Those were the last words I ever said to my brother before I sent him through a portal to a world we haven’t seen or set foot on in over a thousand years. His blue aqua eyes staring back at me as I kicked him through the glowing blue light that was shooting out bright blue lightning from behind him. Jacob what did you make me do? I thought that it would be all over with him gone but I was so wrong…

The night was cold but not completely unbearable, after three months away I finally walked over our freshly grown grass, heading towards our brown porch that was being lit by the glowing outdoor light that was shining brightly along with the great white moon that was in the middle of the sky. I walked foot after foot across the green grass until I placed my boot on the wooden step, hearing it creak underneath my weight as I pulled myself up the steps. My house was very empty by the looks of it which was very weird. I haven’t seen my mother in over three months and I have been dying just to give her a hug, to feel her warmth, love but also cry along with her about Jacob. The wooden house always had its ups and downs, like in the winter it can get extremely cold but in the summer it can also get very hot. I reached out and wrapped my hand around the gold round doorknob. A cold feeling ran underneath my palm but something else didn’t feel well. A had a very bad gut feeling that was tugging me as I walked up the stairs. Shaking up off the feeling I turned the knob until I heard the door click and swing it open to feel the warmth that was floating in our house. Jacob and I were very naughty when we were still very little but after my dad died we just drifted apart. How could everything have lead up to that point that I had to shove him through a portal all the way to earth just to keep him alive? I made my way through the beige corridor, a dark wooden framed floor underneath my feet that lead all through the house and up the stairs. There were portraits of Jacob and me hanging on all the walls as I walked down the corridor to the kitchen. Last time I was in the kitchen I was attacked by Lancelot before I shoved him through the sky and into the dark woods. O this house holds some great memories! Finally I reached the kitchen sporting its white wooden cupboards, the grey metallic kitchen appliances, with a huge island in the middle of the kitchen. I miss my mother’s food, she the best caterer in all of the realm. I was so lost in thought that when I heard a cough coming from behind me I nearly had a heart attack. I spun around to find standing in the living room was a dark shadow lurking in the shadows. The light brown wooden walls and floor was neatly covered by a glass coffee table, beige couches with a ton of written words on it. The dark shadow walked across the creaking wooden floor more into the light but there was another figure seated on the one couch. The moving figure slowly came into the light when the blood in my body suddenly came to a solid frozen form. Standing there in my living room was Lancelot. His dark brown eyes staring at me, his au brown hair wet from the rain we got on the way back home, including his clothe. That tight black t-shirt clinging to his chest, his dirty black chino’s also wet from the rain. What the hell is he doing here?

“What the hell are you doing here?” I asked, hearing the complete shock in my own voice.

“You left me for dead! I told you once I would get you back.” He moved through the darkness and pulled the seated figure up right and into the light. My heart felt like it was about to come to a halt. He was holding her hostage?

“No, please let her go?” I pleaded but he only gave me a big and creepy smile.

“Lancelot! NO!”
