"This is a great book. It starts at the premise of Clara going to the university in order to be close to her friend, Anika, but discovers that she is nowhere to be found and nobody knows what happened to her. Clara meets Emil, who had his own past with Anika, and decides she wants him. So they end up getting closer and closer 🫦 The story offers moments of all kinds: sad, fun, cozy, sexy, shocking, intense. There’s still the element of surprise, because I still have no idea what happened to Anika. I had my suspicions in the beginning, but now I no longer know what to think 🤭"
This story has something truly special about it...
" This story has something truly special about it, standing out in a beautiful way. It’s not the typical dark romance, but in the best possible way. Emil isn’t your average man; he’s more like the man you dream about. There’s something about him that makes you want to shout, “You should leave her,” but then again, you find yourself begging, “Please don’t leave her.” He’s genuinely golden, with all his imperfections and possessiveness, but not in a sick way, he simply wants to care for her. On the other hand, Clara is someone you might feel conflicted about... you might want to dislike her, but you can’t. Her past haunts her, and even though you understand her experiences while reading, it’s really hard to fully grasp the depths, or better, “the blue” of her mind because she doesn’t want you to. This story is beautifully written (I wish I’d known Italian to read the original version, it must be beautiful), and I love it because it explores trauma, abuse, and violence but also love, kindness, and tenderness in a way that feels young, fresh, and full of hope. It makes you wonder what a different world this would be if all men could see victims the way Emil does with Clara. I’m really excited to read more chapters. Thank you so much for sharing this story. A haunting and tender exploration of love and inherited pain
"This story explores love in a deep and emotional way, especially how it is shaped by past trauma. The author shows different kinds of pain: not only the strong ones from childhood, but also the ones that grow and change over time. This "multi-dimensional" approach, as I would call it, gives the characters a strong psychological realism and makes their actions feel both complex and believable. The romantic relationship between Clara and Emil at the center of the story is particularly compelling, because at times, it feels healing and tender, as if the characters are trying to fix each other’s broken parts, while at other moments, however, it reveals a certain immaturity that is entirely consistent with their age and emotional development, just like it would be in real life. Another interesting element is the “ghost-like” character. Even though she's not always present, she still influences the story, subtly guiding events and maintaining a sense of tension throughout the story. Lastly, let me say that the author’s writing style is very engaging and easy to follow. The way the story is written helped me to clearly understand the characters’ emotions and what they are going through. The author is very good at showing small emotional details, which makes the story feel more real and relatable. Honestly, what can I add? I loved everything and I can’t wait to read what comes next!"
