Introduction

King’s seer.

She can barely remember what her true name is, as that’s all she has been called since she was nine years old when her parents sold her to the king to be his seer and left her there. Some days she wonders if they think about her, other days, she wonders what she did to deserve being sold to the king. Then there are days when she doesn’t even remember they exist. She is the King’s seer, and this is her tale.

Her parents told her they were going on a trip, one that would take several days, but it would be worth it in the end. You see, they were going to meet with the king, a real live king. They had a lavender dress made, with black embroidery and royal purple ribbon adorning it in all the right places. The dress only enhanced the light lavender of her eyes, pale skin, framed with long straight black hair, making her look like the princess she should be. Little did she know, they had already made arrangements with the king for her to stay, for she was special. She could see snippets of the future, and the king’s past seer had died. The winning applicant will be compensated handsomely should the seer prove her worth. The child was excited to see the castle, finding herself wondering what the king would be like because the stories of princes and knights that saved the princess from dragons had always excited her.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
