Series Author’s Note

Dear Readers,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining Zip, Tag, Tom, and Canva on this journey. When I first sat down to write Relative Friction, I wanted to create a story that captured the messy, beautiful reality of adult love.

We’ve seen these four navigate the ultimate betrayal, the frantic desperation of college life, and the quiet, “stimmy” moments that make a relationship feel like home. This story was always about the balance between the “Seniors” who think they have it all figured out and the “Juniors” who realize they have the power to change the rules.

To my readers who connected with Zip’s sensory world, I see you. To those who laughed at Tag’s “emulsion physics”, I’m glad we could share a smile. Writing the reunion and the final forgiveness for these characters has been an emotional ride, and I am so grateful you were there to witness it.

While the university years are over, the “friction” of life continues. Whether it’s in a soundproof apartment in the city or a flat in London, I like to think our boys are finally enjoying the quiet they worked so hard to find.
