"Micheline Trancu Oct. 25 2017 My opinion of the story. It is a good novel. The subject of the story is very well described and very profound. The writer uses many style figures that give the story a special charm. The story seems too long at first, but once you step into it, it makes you curious and you want to discover what has happened over the course of the different events. It's a mixture of romance with the cruel realities faced by the Kurds and struggling to gain their rights. The author writes passionately about her experiences that makes us live with her the different happenings and at the same time she draws an alarm on the horrors occured on the end of the last century and should not be forgotten, but also told to the young generation. I was pleasantly impressed by the debutant writer and I wish her success further…."

"Good story. It captivated me from the start. The story develops very well, holding the reader's attention to the very end. The story takes the reader to Istanbul and Anatolia. The author also brings attention to two world wars that caused tremendous suffering, radical changes and upheavals to so many people, in eastern Europe, as well as in other parts of the continent. There is romance and adventure. I enjoyed it very much.. Aurora"
My opinion about the novel
"The novel describes the struggle of Kurds for their land and independence and the kidnapping as a method to achieve it. It contains a lot of interesting historical information about Turkey, Kurdistan, Rumania and Armenia and the consequence of the Ottoman Empire's power in the East Europe region. The author combines an intense and romantic love story facing professional and family duties, with the kidnapping of the main character. In addition, the novel describes accurately the uncertain jobs offered in the US to the design engineers employed only during the carrying out of a project and the difficulty of a woman engineer to become a project manager. As a woman Canadian engineer I went though similar situation. I liked very much "The land of lions", its wealth of information and the openly and straight forward description of the situations and feelings."
