Chapter 1
My name is Jessica and this is my story of how I met a vampire and how my life changed.
It was a warm afternoon when Jessica’s mom came in and told her they had finally gotten new neighbors. She grinned when she mentioned they had a boy Jessica’s age. She always got that way when there were boys around, she felt like she was supposed to jump up and down in her moms eyes. Jessica’s mom was always telling her to make new friends since she had like zero. Its hard meeting people and having them not judge you by your appearance. Jessica was more of an 80s/90s style so she dressed what they call ‘out of style’ so she was ignored or picked on. Well this time she figured she’d try to say hello.
She was coming out her front door when she saw a teenage boy who could only be described as was easy on the eyes but not on the heart. She walked down the stairs and took a deep breath and said “Hi” she must have startled him because he almost dropped the box he was holding.
“Sorry didn’t mean to scare you” Jessica said trying to not laugh.
She didn’t know what else to say but he smiled and set the box down and extended his hand as she walked down the stairs, she shook his hand and introduced myself.
“My name is Jess its short for Jessica and who might you be?” she asked. He took his hand back and picked up the box.
“My name is Jason and you're welcome to grab a box if you want” he answered.
So this was going well and she wanted to be friendly and help so she grabbed a box and followed him. As she set down the box inside his apartment she took in his features. He had to be at least 6ft, blue eyes and dark hair. His eyes met hers and she quickly looked away and she thought of something to say.
“So do you need more help.” Jessica said quickly. Just then a girl walked past her and stopped next to Jason.
“No” the girl said “I think we got it but thanks for helping.” As the girl put a possessive hand on Jason’s arm. Jason shot her a glare
“There isn’t a whole lot to bring in, but an extra pair of hands would be great” Jason said shooting the other girl a glare.
Jessica walked outside and felt like she had just made a fool of herself, this girl was obviously his girlfriend. How could someone that hot not have a girlfriend? She felt a hand tap her shoulder.
“Hey sorry about Abby she gets super jealous really easy.” Jason told her.
“No I get it I was just trying to be neighborly,” Jessica said.
“Still want to help Jess?” Jason said with a smile. He said walking up the ramp of the U-Haul truck and grabbing a box and handing it down to her.
“Sure” Jessica said grabbing the box and carrying it in the house with a grin. It was a place to start and if Abby ever gets out of the picture you can bet this girl was going for it.
It was about an hour later when Jessica finished helping unload all the boxes into the house when she heard the fighting.
“She’s my neighbor and she is just helping. Why do you always have to be a control freak when other girls are around? Just grow up already.” Jason said rather upset.
“How can you talk to me like that when she is obviously flaunting herself at you?” Abby yelled.
“Flaunting are you serious?” Jason retorted.
“Yes she is” Abby huffed.
“I can't stand this crap from you anymore just get out we’re done Abby” Jason yelled
Jessica walked outside and sat on the steps that led to her apartment. It wasn’t to long before Abby came storming out and slammed the door.
“You want him then he’s yours,” Abby yelled as she stomped to her car and left.
Jason came outside and saw Jessica on the stairs “Look I’m sorry you heard all that” Jason said apologetically.
“Nah its ok” Jessica said “Well my mom asked me to run some errands earlier so I had better get those done, nice meeting you” Jessica said with a grin.
She didn’t see it but Jason was checking her out, as he hadn’t noticed how long her blond hair was or how cute her grin could be. She had emerald green eyes and he could see now why Abby was so upset. She didn’t have an hourglass figure but she had curves and she was beautiful but she seemed to not acknowledge it. He chuckled into the night air as if he was mocking Abby and the truth.
