Chapter 1: Transmigration, Let the Wind of Beginning Blow

“So, I’ve transmigrated into Ash!”

Looking at the reflection of a different face in the water and the Pikachu perched on his shoulder, Lin Zhi’s expression was a mix of helplessness and wonder. He never expected that he would transmigrate, let alone into the protagonist, Ash Ketchum.

According to the memories flooding his mind, Ash had just completed his journey through the first region, Kanto. He had placed in the Top 16 at the Indigo League and had become an Honorary Trainer of the Orange League before returning to Pallet Town.

Just moments ago, he and his traveling companions, Brock and Misty, had finished packing their bags. They were preparing to head west to the Johto region to challenge the Johto League.

On top of that, he had a task from Professor Oak: deliver the GS Ball to Kurt in Azalea Town.

“From now on, I am Ash!”

The strange sensation of being in a new body vanished instantly as Lin Zhi’s soul merged with Ash’s, forging a brand-new Ash.

“Now, the Silver Conference in Johto, the Ever Grande Conference in Hoenn, the Lily of the Valley Conference in Sinnoh, the Vertress Conference in Unova... I’m going to win them all. Then, I’ll become the Kanto Champion and make up for all the regrets of my past life!”

Ash clenched his fist tightly. This time, his journey would leave no room for regret. He would make this transmigration count.

“Thinking back, the original Ash’s performance in Johto was honestly terrible. None of his Johto starters evolved to their final forms, and his performance in the finals was mediocre at best.”

“Not only that, but throughout the journey, the Pokemon he caught in Kanto were either loaned out or released. After Charizard, none of them got any screen time. The most pitiful one was Bulbasaur, who ended up as a nanny in Professor Oak’s backyard.”

As a transmigrator, Ash discovered he had gained a system called the Bond System.

The name reminded him of the original Ash’s journey through Kalos, where he and Greninja achieved a unique transformation the Bond Phenomenon to become Ash-Greninja.

Though he ultimately lost to Mega Charizard X despite having the type advantage, that tournament was arguably the original Ash’s finest performance.

Besides a built-in System Shop and System Space, this system featured a Bond Value display. It could monitor Ash’s bond with his Pokemon. Once the Bond Value reached a certain threshold, he could undergo the same transformation as he did with Greninja with any of his partners.

Even Charizard, who could already Mega Evolve using a Mega Stone, could evolve into Ash-Charizard through this system.

Wouldn’t that be incredibly cool?

As for the System Shop, it only offered Pokemon items and various supernatural abilities from the Pokemon world, such as Viridian Power or Dragon Power. Exchanging for actual Pokemon was impossible.

The points required for exchanges would be awarded based on his performance after every victory in battle.

Having completed one regional journey, the system calculated his progress and awarded him 3000 exchange points. It was a decent start.

“Speaking of which, I should probably exchange for Aura Power!”

Having watched the original series, Ash knew he possessed Aura Power and was even hailed as the Aura Guardian with Pikachu. However, the previous Ash had never trained it, and he himself didn’t know where to start.

But he had a theory. Perhaps the original’s Bond Phenomenon capability actually stemmed from his Aura Power.

The 3000 exchange points were exactly enough for basic Aura Power.

A flash of blue light enveloped him. Ash’s eyes brightened as he began to grasp the initial uses of Aura.

“Pika?”

Pikachu let out a confused cry, sensing that something about Ash had changed.

“Haha, Pikachu, I’ll be counting on you from here on out!”

Ash took a quick look at the Bond values provided by the system.

Pikachu: 180/255

Charizard: 140/255

Snorlax: 120/255

Squirtle: 120/175

Bulbasaur: 120/180

Unsure of what the second numbers meant, he queried the system.

A “Compatibility” existed between himself and his Pokemon. This number represented the maximum Bond Value that a specific Pokemon could reach with him.

Compatibility was not fixed; it was linked to the stage of evolution. As training deepened and the time they spent together grew, this limit would gradually rise. It was similar to how long-married couples begin to resemble one another over time.

To trigger the Bond Phenomenon, the Bond Value had to reach at least 255, which was also the maximum Compatibility limit.

Therefore, the partners with the best chance of transforming right now were Pikachu, Charizard, and Snorlax.

Ash was surprised that his Compatibility with Snorlax was so high.

As for Pikachu, despite not being in its final evolution, it already had such high Compatibility. It truly was his soul partner, perhaps the only exception to the rule the Child of Destiny!

As for Squirtle and Bulbasaur, he wouldn’t force them. Neither of them wanted to evolve.

“Pika!”

Hearing Ash’s words, Pikachu was immediately filled with fighting spirit, its face saying, “Leave it to me!”

“Ash, what are you doing? We’re totally lost!”

Misty’s complaints suddenly reached his ears.

Ash snapped out of it, remembering they had just left Pallet Town and were heading west toward their first destination: New Bark Town.

The town where the wind of beginning blows!

They should have arrived after crossing this forest, but a thick fog had blocked their path. They had been wandering for quite some time, and he had transmigrated right while they were disoriented.

“Don’t worry, Misty. We’ll definitely find the way!” Having mastered the basics of Aura Power, Ash was confident he wouldn’t get lost again.

Suddenly, Ash sensed a mysterious and powerful Aura. It felt incredibly gentle.

He looked up to see a blue silhouette appearing on the water in front of him.

“Suicune?”

As a transmigrator, Ash recognized it instantly. That was clearly the phantom image of Suicune!

Suicune glanced at Ash before leaping toward a specific direction, clearly leading them out of the fog. Ash could feel Suicune’s Aura gradually fading as it vanished into the distance.

“Thank you, Suicune! Wait for me somewhere in Johto!”

Ash shouted at the top of his lungs. He believed Suicune could hear him. This was also his declaration to the entire Pokemon world!

He was here!

Wait for him, Pokemon, wherever you may be in this world!

Vampire: Great story. Clear plot line and very interesting. Characters are lovely and well made. Amazing writing skills and grammar. Only thing that was a little bit too much is the repetition but I guess it's a writing style? Anyways I love it definitely recommend it!
