Star Rail: I Made a Game and Shocked the Universe!

Summary

Lin Yu was given a God-Level Game Development System in a universe that desperately needed entertainment. So, he built the ultimate game: Honkai: Star Rail. But there’s a twist he released it to the very people the game is based on. Soon, the entire universe is hooked. Turn-based combat suddenly feels as epic as fighting an Aeon. Secret identities like Dan Heng’s Imbibitor Lunae are broadcasted to the stars. And the tragic, hidden pasts of characters like Aventurine have the whole galaxy in tears. While the real Duke Inferno realizes he got off-screened in a video game, Lin Yu is busy counting his profits. A hilarious, meta-narrative success story that will have you looking at Gacha games in a whole new light.

Chapter 1: Honkai: Star Rail

The Xianzhou Luofu, Aurum Alley.

This was the Luofu’s most famous food street, a place rich in culinary delights and street culture. However, the prosperity didn’t stretch from end to end.

Tucked away in the far corners of the commercial district were old, dilapidated blocks. They weren’t just quiet; they were practically deserted the equivalent of an “urban village” found in any city.

This particular section of the old district was the most derelict of all. Hardly anyone lived here anymore, giving it the reputation of a ghost zone.

At that moment, a handsome young man sat inside one of the crumbling houses, slurping instant noodles.

“Dammit, I transmigrated into the world of Honkai: Star Rail, and I’m actually doing worse than in my past life!” Lin Yu muttered, looking utterly aggrieved.

A week ago, he had been grinding for the Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters set for his Acheron. Just after he successfully enhanced a god-tier Crit Rate Body piece, he had transmigrated to the Xianzhou Luofu the very next second.

Once the initial shock wore off, he adopted a “since I’m here, I might as well stay” attitude and tried to survive. However, this world was far more competitive than he had imagined.

The long life species workers were so obsessed with their jobs they were willing to work twenty-four hours a day on a continuous loop! He couldn’t compete. He couldn’t compete at all!

Becoming a Nameless and traveling across the galaxy on adventures was even more out of the question. In a world spanning the entire universe, someone without skill or capital was less than nothing.

“I didn’t expect that even after transmigrating, I’d still have the fate of a common laborer. Where’s the system I was promised!?” Lin Yu finished the last of his soup and grumbled indignantly.

Beep—

“Keyword captured.”

A cold, mechanical female voice rang out.

“Congratulations to the host for activating the God Level Mobile Game Development System!”

Lin Yu’s heart skipped a beat; his hands trembled. Finally! The day had come! This was the treatment a transmigrator deserved!

A translucent blue screen flickered into existence before him.

“To compensate for the system’s late arrival, the host is granted one Legendary Draw.”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Lin Yu tapped the option.

Shoom—

A streak of light pierced the air, erupting into a brilliant golden glow.

“Congratulations to the host for obtaining all content for the initial version of the mobile game: Honkai: Star Rail!”

“Star Rail?”

Lin Yu blinked. He was currently in the world of Star Rail, and now he had just drawn the game itself?

He immediately checked the system interface to see the resources and how to use them. He found that the content was exactly the same as the Honkai: Star Rail from his memory. It was currently the pre-1.0 version; any subsequent updates would need to be purchased with points.

“I’m rich!”

Lin Yu was ecstatic. In this world, almost everyone owned a mobile phone. He couldn’t fathom how popular the game would become once it was released. To the people here, the content of the game was a direct reflection of reality!

Take the opening scene with Kafka and Silver Wolf, for example. Both were figures with bounties from the IPC reaching into the billions. Seeing them in a game would blow everyone’s minds! And that wasn’t even mentioning the Gacha system where people could pull for these characters and their Light Cones.

Lin Yu believed the appearance of this game would be of unparalleled significance to this world.

Acting quickly, he extracted all the resources. He registered his personal information on the galaxy’s largest app store, carefully reviewing the rights for original game creators. The privacy protection was robust; he wouldn’t have to worry about his identity being leaked.

However, Lin Yu remained cautious. He was planning something big. If high-ranking IPC executives noticed him, they might force their way into the back end to find his details, or perhaps imprison him to exploit what looked like the ability to predict the future.

He treated others with the utmost wariness. Thus, he didn’t rush to upload the game immediately. Instead, he reopened his system panel.

[Core Function: Gain points by developing mobile games.]

[Player count, online duration, and microtransactions will be converted into points at a specific ratio.]

[Points can be used for draws, purchasing items from the Mystery Shop, etc.]

[Contains a large number of Legendary quality items. Host, please actively earn points!]

The core functions were about what he expected. Then, in the top right corner, he noticed a buff icon.

[Newbie Protection: The host cannot be observed by any entity harboring malicious intent during the current period. Duration: 30 days.]

Seeing this, Lin Yu’s lips curled into a smirk. He was safe!

“One month is more than enough time to make this game explode across the galaxy! Once I have the points, I can exchange them for powers that put me on the level of an Aeon.”

With his concerns eased, Lin Yu finally uploaded Honkai: Star Rail to the Galactic Store.

[Release Successful!]

Among the swarm of new mobile games, Honkai: Star Rail stood out, seemingly glowing with a light of its own.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
