Prologue Destiny Speaks
The sound came first.
Metal folding into itself.
Glass shattering like a scream that never made it out.
I didn’t know where I was—only that I had been here before.
The air was thick, heavy with something I couldn’t name. Fear… grief… memory. It wrapped around my chest like it recognized me, like it had been waiting.
And then I saw him.
Walking toward the car like it was just another day. Like fate wasn’t already standing in the road, waiting to meet him halfway.
My breath caught.
Not again.
Not like this.
My body knew before my mind did—that deep, aching knowing that lives in your bones, not your thoughts. The kind that doesn’t ask for permission. The kind that doesn’t care if you’re ready.
The impact came like a flash.
And just like that—
I was back.
⸻
I woke up with my heart racing, fingers gripping the sheets like I was trying to hold onto something that had already slipped through me.
That feeling didn’t leave.
It never does.
People like to talk about intuition like it’s soft. Gentle. A whisper.
But mine?
Mine has always been loud.
Violent.
Unforgiving.
It doesn’t nudge.
It reveals.
⸻
They’ll tell you this is a love story.
They’ll say it was about timing.
About choices.
About who I chose… and who I left behind.
But that’s not the truth.
This was never about choosing between people.
This was about choosing between versions of myself.
The one who stayed where it was safe…
And the one who answered when something deeper called her name.
⸻
And if there’s one thing you should know about me—
I’ve never been afraid of desire.
But this?
This wasn’t desire.
This was something else entirely.
Something that felt like it had already been written…
Long before I ever lived it.
Awesome start, can't wait to read more! 🤎
