a Season to Remember

Summary

I knew my life would change forever the moment I set foot in the underground fighting facility with Adam. I knew there was no looking back when I sprayed paint my first words of hope to Xavier the night I figured out that the world had done something to him, but I didn't know what yet. I knew I crossed a line I couldn't return to when Christopher went flying down a two way street at 100 miles an hour with me in the passenger seat. I knew my innocence was gone the moment Keith taught me how to out smart the cashiers at every gas station, and I stole my first beer. When I met the Hiddleston brothers I knew my life would change, but I didn't know that I would change too. I didn't know that I was going to feel every emotion there possibly was when I got introduced to them, and I didn't know how bad all the trouble we were going to get into was going to be both literally and figuratively.

Part 2: Chapter 16

“The boys should be here any minute now.” Mrs. Hastings said as she fixed her blonde hair.

I had spent weeks listening to Sam talk about her cousins and how much different her cousin’s family was from hers. And now the moment has come for me to finally put a face to the Hiddleston boys.

I hadn’t heard of them until now because Sam didn’t really talk about her extended family or relatives, but apparently their dad owns one of the biggest companies in Singapore and they were very well known across the country.

“Mom, did you remember Keith’s welcome gift this time?” Sam said taking off her heels.

“Yes, of course I remember. Why would I not bring his welcome gift?” Mrs. Hasting said as if what Sam said was the most ridiculous thing she’s ever heard.

“Because you always forget.” Sam exchanged a knowing look with her dad.

Mrs. Hasting picked up the heels from the ground and handed them to her daughter. “I remembered this time. Now put your shoes back on before we get kicked out of the restaurant.”

Sam was about to say something when something else caught all of our attention. Outside a big black limousine was pulling into the parking lot.

Mrs. Hasting stood up from her seat. “That should be the boys.”
