What is your opinion?

Classic Science Fiction

"I was bowled over by this well-written, supremely humorous story written in the classic science-fiction mode. The story evokes the feel of early Asimov, or even my favorite science fiction writer, Clifford Simak, in its balance of hard science and thoughtful humanity. At the heart of this story is a comic duo full of spite and one-liners, almost what you imagine C=3PO and R2-D2 would be like if you could actually understand the little droid. The concept of Carson, a planet just starting to teem with advanced life, is fascinating and the ending is frustratingly abrupt--what happens once they're "home"? Not that I'm complaining: this is a great prelude to what I hope will be a series of adventures with this pair, as well as a further investigation into the beginnings of life on new worlds in the imaginative cosmos. Well done indeed!"

Great sci-fi!!!

"I really enjoyed this. Already, I feel connected to the characters and want to know more about them. The writing was evocative and powerful. Usually, what I see lacking in writing is dialogue, but you had very good dialogue. I hope that you will add more to this story. It drew me in from the very beginning and won't let go. This is just me, but I think you should submit it to the Beyond Time sci-fi contest, because this is a great story. :)"

The Adventures of Cobalt and Captain Gold

"Good start. Lots of potential. By the end though I was still not able to get a clear picture in my mind of Captain Gold or the ship. The Cobalt and Gold names give few clues as to who they are. The interaction between the two however; is good and really helps. The ship with its famous old Japanese name hints at a certain style but we have little else to go on. Not sure about the "Like a Brick" title either and do not see the connection to the story. I found it a good easy read. Well paced but a bit lacking in detail. A clear picture did not form in my mind by the end though. It will be interesting to see where this goes. Post more!!!"
