Summary

Heir. Outsider. Protector. Lover. Chase Nathanial Timothy Morehouse, Earl Greenwood, has built his life on duty, discipline, and control. Adopted into the powerful Ashford family and groomed to lead their global corporation, Chase believes love is a distraction he can’t afford. Josephine “Josie” Townsend proves him wrong. Fiercely independent and raised between continents, Josie arrives seeking proof of her citizenship—and a way to save her career at West International. What she doesn’t expect is a collision with the aristocratic world she despises, or the commanding nobleman who challenges her at every turn. From glittering ballrooms to corporate boardrooms, from London to the American South, Chase and Josie are thrown together by circumstance, ambition, and undeniable attraction. As Josie rises from secretary to Director of Design, she confronts corruption, social prejudice, and the rigid expectations of high society. Chase, forced to choose between tradition and love, discovers that protecting Josie means redefining everything he thought he wanted. Their journey is tested by distance, danger, pregnancy, and tragedy—but through storms both literal and emotional, their bond deepens into something unbreakable. Whispers of the Heart is a sweeping romantic saga of power and vulnerability, legacy and belonging, and two fiercely strong souls who find home in each other.

PROLOGUE...

The night was still—the kind of stillness that made every sound feel amplified. Chase stood alone as the wind tugged at his clothes, whispering secrets of the past and promises of the future. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silver glow over the landscape and illuminating the path that had led him here.

He drew a deep breath, the cool air filling his lungs, and closed his eyes. Memories flooded his mind, each one a fragment of the journey that had brought him to this moment. There was laughter—friends, shared joy, the warmth of family. But there was pain as well. Loss. Sacrifice. All of it woven together into the man he had become.

When he opened his eyes again, the horizon had begun to darken. Clouds gathered, heavy and ominous, their edges flickering with distant lightning. The air thickened with the scent of rain, and a low rumble of thunder echoed across the land. A storm was coming—and it mirrored the turmoil within him.

Chase knew the road ahead would not be easy. The storm was a reminder of the trials yet to come, the obstacles he would be forced to face. But he was ready. He had faced storms before, and each time, he had emerged stronger. This one would be no different.

With a determined look, Chase stepped forward. The journey was only just beginning—and he would meet whatever awaited him head-on.
