Chapter 1: The Glitch That Changed Everything
Hello Kitty had always loved quiet afternoons. The sunlight poured gently through her window, warming her soft pink rug as she sat cross-legged with her favorite handheld game console. Today, she was especially excited—she had just started a brand-new game called Island Adventure.
The opening screen shimmered with bright colors: a sparkling ocean, floating islands, and tiny characters waving from the shore. It looked peaceful… almost too peaceful.
“Let’s see what this game is like,” Kitty said softly, pressing the start button.
The game began normally. Her character—an adorable version of herself—appeared on a sandy beach. She moved forward, collecting coins and hopping over small obstacles. Everything felt simple and cheerful.
But then… something strange happened.
The screen flickered.
Once.
Twice.
Then the colors distorted into streaks of light.
“Oh!” Kitty blinked, tilting her head. “That’s odd…”
The music slowed, stretching into a warped echo. The ocean froze mid-wave. Even the clouds stopped moving.
Suddenly, a voice crackled from the console:
“System… error… help…”
Kitty leaned closer. “Hello? Is someone there?”
The screen flashed bright white—and before she could react, a gust of wind burst out of the console. Papers flew, her bow fluttered wildly, and the room seemed to twist.
“W-wait—!”
In an instant, Kitty was pulled forward—straight into the screen.
She landed with a soft poof in warm sand.
When she opened her eyes, the sky above her was impossibly blue, dotted with pixel-like sparkles. The ocean shimmered like glass, and in the distance, floating platforms hovered in midair.
Kitty slowly sat up. “This… isn’t my room.”
She looked down at her hands—they were the same, but something felt different. Lighter. Brighter.
“Am I… inside the game?”
A small glowing creature zipped past her face, leaving behind a trail of sparkling pixels.
“Whoa—new player detected!” it chirped.
Kitty blinked. “Oh! Hello!”
The creature stopped and hovered in front of her. It was tiny, like a floating star with eyes.
“I’m Bit! Your in-game guide!” it said proudly. “And you are… wow, you look exactly like the main character!”
Kitty smiled politely. “I’m Hello Kitty. I think I got pulled in here somehow.”
Bit’s glow flickered nervously. “Uh… yeah. That’s not supposed to happen.”
Kitty stood, brushing sand off her dress. “Do you know how I can get back home?”
Bit hesitated.
“…Not yet.”
The peaceful ocean suddenly glitched—waves flickered in jagged patterns, and parts of the island blinked in and out.
Kitty gasped. “What’s happening?”
Bit turned serious. “The game core is broken. If we don’t fix it, this entire world—and everyone in it—could disappear.”
Kitty looked out across the island.
For the first time, she noticed shapes in the distance—tiny houses, colorful trees… and figures moving.
Other characters.
Other friends.
She placed her hands together gently, determination in her eyes.
“Then we have to help them.”
Bit smiled. “Looks like you just accepted the quest.”
And just like that… her adventure began.
