Summary

My collection of poems that explore various themes from love, grief and other topics. A compilation of free verse, spoken word and inspirational poetry. I started writing back in the year 2000. I have two books I wrote for a class project when I was ten. Throughout my formative years I drifted away from writing. A piece here and a piece there, nothing more than a few lines. In early 2025 my partner convinced me to follow my long-lost dream.... I did just that. I invite you to take this journey with me through life's grand mysteries. Hopefully, you will see what I have seen, feel what I have felt, or cry when I've cried. I hope you enjoy reading. And the journey within my mind.

Blissful Kiss of the Night Sky

Here I rest upon the grass,

gazing up towards a starless sky,

A canvas which was blank and vast.

darkness above held you beyond our eyes,

And kept us from your graceful wrath.

When will be the next time I see them?

Will I even see the masquerade of a starry night again?

Will this emotionless sky be where my dreams go to die?

I cannot fathom what may come of our brethren,

when the night sky has no map guide them.

I yearn for stars, which shine so brightly.

Their light can be seen from a million miles away,

As their flashes echo across forever sparkling,

And a devastatingly spectacular decay.

Yet, when I’m alone beneath a starless sky,

When their shoals of illuminance shimmer upon me no more.

When The darkness settled upon my side,

I begin to miss the night that helped me soar,

Glimmering in the distance with beauty and reverence,

for those vast dark spaces give you room to explore,

as if you were a flower under the moon's presence,

Blossoming alongside it in a silent roar.

Only the city below me grows restless.

Consumes time, but never accepts it.

Its electric lights destroying your existence.

A perpetual artificial brightness

over-saturating the value of your presence.

Looking up, I can see the difference.

Oh, how I miss the night that shows your benevolence.

Your golden essence

and sparkly transcendence

creates a canvas that will never vanish.

Yet, there you and I sit forever lost in limbo eternal,

So, I sing to you my fallen heroes,

As you should know,

This goes beyond your earthly role.

The role of endless communal growth.

Far out there,

past our immediate eyes

is your home.

Where your heart truly lies.

A golden twinkling paradise.

My letter to the Stars,
